The Bakestone - Kendal - Photo album

Lovely park with lots of greenery. Children's play area. Plenty of seats to take a rest by the river and also in the park. Access to the castle just across the river bridge and up the hill. Also nearby carpark peppercorn next to the art gallery and access to the parish church and town centre
What an amazing space, the staff are friendly and welcoming amazing, especially the manager and young lady in cafe. Well laid out, plenty of toilets, something for everyone.
Excellent exhibition very well presented Well worth a visit. Pleasant little coffee bar with helpful pleasant staff.
Visited for the coffee shop friendly staff we sat outside with ice-cream and coffee most enjoyable
Great spaces, lovely staff. Loved the latest exhibition
I have only explored the museum over here in Google maps Street view. It looks like a great place to visit (soon). Among the curiosities I could see there, I am wondering, is it a stuffed cat sitting by the door? Most amusing.
Excellent gallery beautifully refurbed with an excellent exhibition at the moment
Wonderful gallery. Well curated locally relevant works too
We were thrilled with the quality and scope of the current Refugee exhibition and have discovered several fine artists we didn't know before. The captions were so well thought out and informative throughout the Gallery and a good size too.
We enjoy visiting here and it's become a destination trip for us as well as a stop on the way to the lakes. Nice galleries, exhibitions and cafe. We became members last year which also gives free entry to Blackwell and the Windermere Jetty Museum. Unfortunately Abbot Hall is closing for 2 years fr
Loved the Grayson Perry exhibition, lovely staff!
Abbot Hall represents one of the main venues to see significant art exhibitions in the area. The building is a wonderful space and backdrop to some very fine art. The talented team there are always friendly and helpful and their knowledge is always on tap. We always look forward to the next exhibit
Excellent pictures. Would have been 5 star but for the brusque manner a female attendant approached us with regard to the small haversack my partner was wearing. Of course it is vital to protect the art. A pity the art of courtesy was lost on her.
A lovely place to visit. The lady on reception was so welcoming and helpful. (Tuesday am). A very interesting and well presented museum and art gallery. And a great coffee and cake in the cafe! Very enjoyable.
