This may just be my new most favourite cafe in the whole world, its like build a bear but for hot chocolate. So many different chocolates to choose from, alongside different marshmellow flavours. There was oat milk, almond milk and coconut milk alongside regular cows milk which was a really nice selection to choose from. The hot chocolates themselves were huge, I got a regular expecting the "small" option to be small, and my partner got a small, but both were really big. I got a ruby hot chocolate with oat milk and vegan marshmellows which was incredible, and my partner got a hellvelyn which he said was just as good. The chocolate and damson cake was amazing, as was the blondie, there arent many places in kendal you can get a gorgous slice of cake for ÂŁ2.
I'm writing this after my 3rd visit - each time I've had a different hot chocolate, from 61% up to 85%, and each one has been delicious. I haven't tried the extras yet, but I'm looking forward to trying a hint of chilli or a handmade marshmallow with my drink next time.
The drinks are all made with just the chocolate chips/buttons and hot milk (and dairy free alternatives are available). Really high quality stuff, and well worth the reasonable prices. The small sized 85% was ÂŁ2.75, and the regular (the huge bowl in the photos!) was ÂŁ3.75, and it gets you the highest quality hot chocolate I think you can find in Kendal. Well worth a visit!

Amazing hot chocolate- I always find hot chocolate too sweet and sickly, so the higher percentage hot chocolate was an absolute dream.
Would very much recommend going for the 70% if you love dark chocolate but also want a little bit of sweetness!

I would thoroughly recommend Kakaw to anyone looking for something different than the usual tea & coffee cafes and is a breath of fresh air in South Lakes for such a novel idea. We regularly visit the cafe with our kids once a week and their range of both cold chocolate milkshakes in Summer and warm hot chocolates in winter are very smooth and luxurious from the normal instant hot chocolates you normally get. Our kids can’t wait to visit every week after swimming.
The young woman who runs the cafe is highly professional and very caring and her calm attitude to a variety of both easy & difficult customers are a credit to her and the success of their cafe.

First time here and i have to say i am very impressed. The hot chocolate i had was delicious and i was surprised at the options available. Next time i am in Kendal, i will come again.
The best hot chocolate we’ve tasted. A range of percentages to choose from with tasting notes. The 32.6% and 67.4% were our favourites. Do yourself a favour and order it in the bowl for an even better experience. We will be back whenever we pass by.
