We have had a pass to the summer meadow this season and come rain or shine we have loved bringing our twin boys to play and explore and enjoy the many flavours of ice cream. Staff are always smiling even on busy days, although there was a long line for ice cream we were served pretty quickly. It's become a favourite place to picnic too.

If I could give more than 5 stars I definitely would! Lovely morning in the sunshine with some very yummy ice cream. My biggest surprise was that they sell sorbets to meaning my child that has dairy soya and wheat allergy could still have something and didn’t feel left out. Of course i took a treat just incase but it wasn’t needed. He was so amazed!! Lovely staff and lovely place.

Had a lovely afternoon here today. We don't live too far but have only recently seen your lovely farm through a Facebook post. We visited today and the kids loved chilling in the meadow and playing in the lovely park areas. Well worth a visit! We will most definitely visit again xx

Amazing place and so easy for a catch up with toddlers and bigger children alike. And the added bonus of a delicious ice cream afterwards...perfect. and Helen was so accommodating and welcoming when we emerged with our 10 chaotic toddlers umming and arrrring over the vast array of ice creams! Xxx

My wife and I took the kids and thought it was amazing. Lovely play area with farm animals in and around the area and the ice cream is to die for. If I could give it 6 stars I would.

Visited for the first time 01/08/2018 with my three children aged 1, 3 and 6. We absolutely loved it. My son enjoyed reading the map and guiding us around the maize maze and my girls especially loved the play park and animals. Something for everyone and AMAZING ice cream Will be back very soon!

A lovely little gem in a quiet area off the motorway. Delicious ice cream with a wide selection of choice of flavour. I had sticky toffee, chocolate, and salted caramel. All 3 of them were incredibly creamy and flavourful. Loads of seating with fun activities for kids, a lovely way to spend a few hours of your day with your family. I will 100% be back next time I visit Devon

Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant! If you have a nut allergy, fear not they reassured me that they have no nuts at all in their ice creams which made my daughter so happy. My daughter has to stare at her siblings eating ice cream very often unable to eat a lot of ice creams herself because of the risk of cross contamination. Orange Elephant Ice Cream is the best ever ice cream parlour because it caters for absolutely everyone including customers with a nut allergy. They are super friendly too and the play area and meadow are incredible for children. A nice addition would be a vegan chocolate ice cream as I avoid dairy and don't like sorbets very much but that's not currently available. Amazing place and seeing my daughter happy made me happy.

Lovely place to visit. Ideally suited to families, with open grounds and swings and slides. The ice cream parlour was busy and the ice creams were certainly first class. Brilliant staff, easy parking just outside, country setting and a great place for at least a few hours. I would go again.

Superb ice cream, yes that is a dollop of clotted cream on top. They have a drive thru here and it is brilliant ice cream and good value.

The best ice cream you’ll ever eat! This place is hidden if you don’t know about it, just off the A38 advertised by the orange elephant at the side of the road. The orange elephant is an ice cream barn, with ice cream produced by cows bred for that purpose. Very creamy and not at all grainy with plenty of flavours to choose from. On the farm are animals and a maze you can pay to see for a very low price. There is also an area for children to play. All of the members of staff are friendly and helpful and there are also some very sweet farm kittens you might be lucky to see. One of my favourite places

Delicious ice-cream and lovely surrounds. A great place to take kids - though best for those between 4 and 10 years.

First time visiting the orange elephant and my girls had lots of fun in the play areas and maze. The one thing I was very disappointed with was the lack of dairy free alternatives. My daughter cannot have any diary and the only other option for her was raspberry sorbet! For an established ice cream shop I would have expected a wider choice for the dairy free or vegan community.

Visiting Orange Elephant ice cream is the result of passing the huge plastic elephant (now orange with a cone, it was previously pink with a slide by the side of the M5 just south of Exeter on the north bound side) so many times over the years I have lost count. Anyway the ice cream is very good, huge range of flavours and not just the usual suspects, we had a sundae (banana split) - really nice, service and prices good. There is a play barn, not investigated, a field/orchard also not checked (extra cost but good for small ice cream eaters). Outside and inside eating areas, toilets etc. The buildings etc could be renovated some more however it is also a working farm and the ice cream is very good. Beware not open every day, check before going to avoid disappointment.

Taken here by a friend for an ice cream. And what a fabulous ice cream it was. Had a choc waffle cone with blueberry and "muddy green wellies" (you'll have to go to find out what flavour that is) and they were both superb. Lots of other flavours to choose from too. They also have a meadow you can walk around (for a small fee) and a play barn for the children. Really glad we went.

It's in a lovely rural location with some stunning views. They have a wide range of ice cream flavours, we tried the white chocolate and brownie ice cream, but there are ones for people who want something a bit different, like elderflower and lime or Turkish delight .. they also do some wonderful looking sundaes. It is a bit off the beaten track and you do have to 'pay for play' to enter the play barn or meadow area .. charges were £2.60 (adult day rate), £1.60 (child day rate) and under 2s are free .. or £20 family up to 5 people. We chose not to play!

Love the orange elephant and have their annual membership which I think is very reasonably priced in comparison to other farm style family day's out. With the new all weather barn we still had a great time despite the rain. Fab ice creams and also enjoyed the maize maze even.... def teccomend wellies if its not sunny though!!

Great first experience!! Firstly my daughter is a Coeliac so we have now become the fussy parents that have to question things regarding Gluten free and cross contamination. The lady who served us was so understanding and helped us avoid any cross contamination by getting some ice cream from a new unopened tub and they even had gluten free cones! It was great to see they were so accommodating! Secondly the ice cream was so good!!!! Great selection as well!! Our daughter loved all the play areas and the animals that you have. Thank you for a great first experience, we will be back 👍
