Late post, my husband took me here because of the reviews and images on Google. To our surprise it was definitely a diamond in the rough. We enjoyed our meals as they tasted authentically local and it was cooked to order. The spam katsu musubi was amazing we took some home. If you're in the area make a stop you won't regret it! I'm only giving it 4 stars as there weren't many places to sit as the inside is very small but I'm sure that's by design and for overhead purposes.

Saimin Says is definitely not a vegetarian restaurant (the sauces contain fish and the fried rice contains pork). However, they were so friendly and helpful in trying to figure something out for me, who happened to walk in for lunch after only glancing at the menu online. I ended up getting the Chicken Curry and Rice (without the chicken of course) and it was really solid. It had a Japanese curry base with Yukon gold potatoes, carrots, onions, and celery inside. The meal came with a cup of rice placed in a to-go bowl and a big soup container for the curry so I was able to try it out in the parking lot. Note that they're directly across the street from Golden International (near IKEA) in a large business plaza. It was initially a little tricky to find the right suite since there isn't a huge sign outside and most of the exteriors look alike.
