Mexico Lindo

I ordered the two beef enchiladas with taco plate and it was very delicious. Food was hand prepared with much heart and the waitstaff was very friendly and made sure I was well taken care of along with other patrons. The food was certainly unlike other Mexican restaurants I have eaten where it was near generic; This wasn't that! I definitely will be coming back again and again.

I was headed to Kent Station for lunch a short time ago with my family and we made a spontaneous decision to give Mexico Lindo a try. Unfortunately, we were left wishing we hadn't made the detour. It was lunch time and so I was a little surprised besides one other table, we were the only ones in the restaurant. Even with that said, it seemed like we had to wait as if the waitress was running back and forth between tables. We were given chips but had to ask for salsa. We were given water but had to ask for refills. We had plenty of time to look over the menu but had to wave her down to place our order. My wife and I decided we'd share the Chicken Fajitas and although the menu states big enough for two, the portion maybe feeds one adult. We share Chicken fajitas quite regularly at Mexican restaurants and I guess I took for granted how they are served at every single restaurant we've been to- steaming hot plate served with decent portion sizes to be shared for two individuals and small corn/flour tortillas. The fajitas served at Mexico Lindo came out as if it was any other plate and unfortunately the chicken with peppers, onions and some other leafy vegetable, maybe cabbage...I honestly had no clue and was a little thrown off by the entire presentation or lack thereof. Long story short, the chicken was bland- I would be surprised if salt & pepper was used. The entire plate was warm, like it had been sitting out for a while. Overall I was very disappointed from the service to the food, to having to ask for water to be refilled. The final straw was when I was attempting to pay the waitress dropped the check off and my wife was ready with the card and she didn't take notice and walked off. By this time we were the only other patrons in the restaurant and so we waited almost five minutes to for her to come back and pick up the check and actually had to wave her down so we could cash out. Instead of taking care of our check, the waitress instead sat customers down, gave them water and THEN took their order...all while we stood next to the cash register for over five minutes. We really wanted to give a small family owned business a chance to impress us but we were disappointed on every level and have no plans on ever coming.

I love the food here. Whenever I want good Mexican food, this is my go to place. The atmosphere inside feeels old but not in a "dusty-uncared for" , but quaint and with character. This restaurant has been a fixture in Kent since 1975 and has been owned by the same family. Service is always friendly and welcoming.
