Gonzo's Bar & Grill

“First Impressions, being of the longest lasting, are of the utmost importance”. ~ Pres. Jimmy Carter First Impression of this bar. “Meh” Those are some pretty pathetic chicken strips. Edit... not chicken... fish. They screwed up my order. But they feel really bad about it and are comping the meal. So good people. Just a little green at the bar thing.

I really liked this place as a first time visitor. Our waitress, Amber, was a really good sport and put up with me bugging her to say "you know nothing Jon Snow" as she looks like Rose Leslie. The pitchers are normal priced and they have big Stein sized beers also. The bartender on the Tuesday i went was gorgeous (if you care about beautiful bartenders) and its very open spaced with high ceilings. Was there for a poker league tournament and had a great time.

The food taste reasonable, but the service is dreadful. There has been only one server every time we have dropped in. It takes forever to get waited on and forget about getting a second drink. By the time your food is delivered, it is cold. The last time we waited over 20 minutes with no service before we walked off. The owner is losing a large number of customers by not hiring more help. To put it kindly, it would be a great place to put in a bar.

Be prepared to have a blast at Gonzo's Bar & Grill, although not tight with security, but they manage to keep it safe! Bartenders are knowledgeable and know customer service, but be prepared due to when it gets packed customer service can be limited especially if you like attention, otherwise it a great weekend getaway for a beer or food, 3 pool tables, pull tabs, DJ sometimes and usually Karaoke other nights. That's why I gave it five Stars.

So we have given this place two tries now. The only reason we went is because a couple friends really like this bar for some reason (i still have no idea why). The first visit, after sitting at a table for 15 minutes and not once being acknowledged, we walked out. The place was not packed, not sure what the bartenders or waitresses were doing the whole time but apparently serving customers was not a priority. The second visit, the place was pretty packed, the bar was full and so were most of the tables. Our waitress was extremely nice, got our drinks pretty quickly and then returned to take our orders. I believe we all ordered burgers. I got up once to use the ladies room, quickly decided that was the horrible, terrible idea. The restroom stank like sewage, no exaggeration whatsoever. Did not make that mistake again. After 45 minutes we still had no burgers, asked the waitress what was going on, she had no clue. We kept getting the 'Your food will be out shortly' speech. Another 10-15 minutes go, still no food. Then the owner gets involved. He can't figure out whats going on in the kitchen, he can't even find our order, he's extremely apologetic. We ask to just cancel the food and we'll pay for our drinks and leave. He took a 1/3 off our drink tab, which we appreciated, and like I said he was very apologetic and pretty pissed at his kitchen. We will not be giving Gonzo's a third try.

When I arrived the first waitress took over 10 minutes to take my order. She was preoccupied working just half of the counter two people that arrived after I did got served before me. The food that I ordered was okay except for the Thai chicken wrap very little chicken and the presentation was sloppy. To he waitress did not offer any napkins or utensils with my food. I had to go behind the counter to serve myself for the utensils and napkins. The only reason that they're getting two stars instead of one star is the second waitress that started about 4:30 she gave me and my guest the appropriate attention that is required. The first waitress needs to take lessons from the second waitress. I have been to gonzos many times but I would have to say I might have to look at another bar in the future.
