Lovely old pub, with excellent food and beer and helpful, friendly staff! Lovely Sunday roast and great tasting homemade curry! It must be a good pub? As full of locals on Sunday, always a good sign? Whole place was clean and tidy! So all good, been in twice this week and going back on Friday for our last night!👍🍺

Nice friendly staff. Small interior so worth booking during peak season to ensure you have a table. Starter was a lot which made it hard finish our mains which were sticky BBQ pork chop and Chicken with leak and bacon sauce. That said the food was cooked well and tasted good. Good value for money.

Stopped in here on the way back from a gymnastics competition. Atmosphere really good. Food good quality (especially the Dauphinoise potatoes). Staff very friendly and very helpful. Does get busy so book ahead if you can.

Quaint country pub offering beautiful food and friendly and helpful staff. A lovely Easter Sunday lunch spent here with my partner. Good range of beers and cider.

Absolutely amazing service, we phoned to book a table only a few hours before dinner service began and was very easily accommodated. When we arrived it was very quiet, I almost felt bad about bringing our two children especially as there were signs everywhere saying no children at the bar... However when we sat at our table the server brought out a game of noughts and crosses for the children to play and got our order in. I asked to bring the childrens' as soon as possible knowing our meals would take longer to cook and they did. That kept the kids quiet and happy and their portions were very generous! Onto our meals, I chose the duck breast with hoisin sauce and dauphinoise potatoes and wow! I was not disappointed the duck was perfectly cooked and the sauce was amazing, the dauphinoise potatoes had a delicious crispy top and soft creamy centre and it came with a separate plate of vegetables which were also cooked to perfection. My partner chose the stilton burger and he could not complain either. Again the portions were very generous, we didn't even have room for dessert! All of this and we were finished and paid within the hour! Now I understand the dauphinoise and vegetables would have been precooked to get everything to us that quickly but you honestly couldn't tell and it was great for us as it meant the children didn't get bored and hungry waiting for their food for ages and it was late for our youngest so it meant we could get her back home for a decent bed time still! We came on holiday but we plan to return and will definitely be making another reservation here!

Came for a Christmas dinner. Was nice and quiet so felt safe during this pandemic. The pub is very cosy, with a log burner and low ceilings with beams. Great service from friendly staff. The food was lovely, and even had a great vegan option on the menu.

Came here for a quick lunchtime pit stop. Felt like a good boozer with fair prices. Plenty of people eating what looked like good portions.

Lovely food. Service very polite. Food came fast, warm, tasted great and healthy portions. Parents come here a lot thought I'd see what the fuss was about. Was worth the trip from Exeter.
