Food is not great but also not bad. Service is great, staff is friendly. It was quite busy when we dine here and lots of noisy customers, not the pub's fault at all🤦🏻‍♀️

Fantastic meal. Cannot fault any of it. Had 3 courses, probably should've stuck with 2. Good portions. Nice drinks. Pricier than your local boozer but well worth it. The team are friendly and cheerful. The pub itself is historic; looks really nice and has a wood stove fire in the baa (bar). Toilets were nice and clean too. Looking forward to returning soon.

We went for an early dinner and had a simply fabulous time. The food was amazing, great atmosphere and the staff were outstanding. The kitchens adapted for intolerances and sent out an exceptional meal. Great value for money too. Congratulations to the management for getting everything right and employing a great team.

Food was fantastic, expensive for a village pub, we went on a Sunday so 3 out of 4 of us had the roast dinner, the other had a burger, he said it tasted good but was only warm not hot, he asked the waitress to pop it in the microwave she did offer him another but he declined saying he just wanted it warmer, she was a little cool herself after that saying the chef did probe test it. We all had deserts which were also very good. We would go again but would have to save up first. The lamb and the pork are my recommendations. Try it you wont be sorry, very noisy in the conservatory but then it was very busy.

Nice place, good menu and very friendly staff. My only complaint was there was a long wait for food but it was freshly cooked, also along waut fir desserts.. Unfortunately some of my kebab was black but otherwise food was excellent with good size portions. All in all a nice venue with a good choice on the menu.

My husband and I visited The Red Lion on a Thursday and got the 2 for ÂŁ40 on the hanging kebabs, which were delicious and such a big portion! We also got the chorizo scotch egg as a starter which was big enough to share between two people. The service was fast and the staff were really friendly. Looking forward to going back for the deals on some of the other week days

We always enjoy stopping here when we are out and about on our motorbikes. Outside has been redone since we have last been and it looks very inviting. Previously we've had the fish and chips and I can recommend it.

Visited yesterday with friends for lunch. Really nice place. Excellent food, service and atmosphere in very nice surroundings. It’s a must visit if you’re in the area. Decent sized car park at the back.

We love all of the greedy Gordon eateries for different reasons. For a lovely family meal the red lion is perfect. The menu is extensive and its a lovely environment. The staff are always friendly and we are fortunate enough to live up the road in Brigstock so the red lion isn't far away. Would highly recommend

First time visit to The Red Lion the food was outstanding. The service was excellent and great atmosphere. My husband had the muscles he said they were amazing best he's ever had. l had a pulled duck burger which was so delicious.
We will definitely be coming back.

It is great to find a pub/restaurant that serves genuinely interesting and tasty food. There is also a story behind the food which is great to see.
The service was fantastic, our servers were polite and personal and showed a willingness to please.
The menu is full of interesting items. I had a surf and turf burger with a soft shell crab.
The price of food AND drink is very reasonable, especially for the quality of food that is served.
If your bored of average, cheap food that is served in a lot of pubs then give this place a try! I cant reccomend it enough.

Very lovely and quite posh looking pub with an amazingly diverse Sunday lunch menu (more very exotic options rather than just burgers if you don't want a roast). Staff are amazingly friendly and attentive and have each other's backs.
Criticisms minimal but relevant.
The mussels with chorizo are great as a starter but as a main course just way too salty with all of that chorizo.
Still a great experience and a great meal.

Can not fault this place. Have been here for Sunday lunch which was very nice & cheap & recently had a 60th birthday meal for over 40 people. We had a wonderful time & the food was excellent. Considering how many of us there were it came out straight away, was hot & tasted amazing!

Lucky enough for this gem of a country pub to be our local. Friendly staff, welcoming atmosphere, good range of drinks, fantastic food. Great for families with games in the bar area and a lovely garden for when the sun is shining ďż˝

Had a family meal here a few weeks back and it was so good my husband and I went back last week and it was still great so we have booked another meal for more family. Food was high quality and really well cooked/presented. Staff friendly and polite. Place was spotlessly clean. Good value for money. My new fave place to eat.

Haven't visited this place for over 20yrs, however in the area on a sunny day with the family including the hound. Decided to pop in for some lunch. Reception we received was great. Staff were extremely helpful and the 3 course lunch was some of the best food I've tasted. Many Thanks will definitely be back sooner than later, within the next 20 weeks not years!!!

Lovely looking place and feel, but service was very poor and it wasn't fully booked. Was shown to our table at 19:50, 20 minutes later had to ask for a menu as had not been given one. It was another 20 to 30 minutes before they took our order and I had caught her eye, but she didn't even acknowledge us. I had the salmon which was the thinnest piece I had ever had, my friend had the pie which she said was excellent and the other meal was fish and chips which was tasty, but presentation made it difficult to eat. Don't think I will be rushing back here.

Really enjoyed our lunch yesterday at the Red Lion. Dan called yesterday morning to inform us the chef was off sick, which was extremely impressive, but we decided to still meet our friends as it was a suitable venue halfway between us.
We had a very warm welcome on arrival and our food tasted fab. I would definitely recommend and go back to this pub.

After a visit to Boughton House we stumbled upon The Red Lion on the way home, what a fabulous pub! The staff are so friendly and accommodating squeezing us in at short notice. Our Sunday lunch was delicious (I am a trained chef myself) so I know what I am talking about. We had pudding and only left after we waddled as instructed out of there : D thank you so much for a fabulous afternoon. We will be back soon. My new favourite pub. Xxx

Had an amazing meal on Sunday with the family. The roast was fabulous and the vegetables best selection we have ever had. Just one small gripe (and it is a very small one). The Yorkshire puddings were very salty and originally picked up by our 5 year old granddaughter who eats it first as it is her favourite food!!!! However, this was our second visit and it will not be our last.
