The museum is jammed full of railway stuff and includes a cafe. It was great for a look around, and I suspect some might love the sheer volume of things contained within. Personally, I was with two small children, and there wasn't really anything hands-on for them to try. The museum is free, although you can pop a few quid in the donations!

Museum building located close to main station concourse offers an insight to many different aspects of railway history. Plenty to look at during walkaround, after Free Entry. Tea and cake shop located on site provides relaxing stop with tasty offerings to absorb all the items on show.

I didn't take a trip on the trains but there were a few at the station to have a look at and a building full of old memorabilia from years of railway history including signs signal boxes and everything in between there is also a nice little cafe and a souvenir shop staff were very friendly and polite and best of all it's absolutely free if you're not taking me trip on the train

This is a great little attraction to visit if you happen to be near Kidderminster or catching a train on the SVR. It is free to enter, is a friendly setting, and has a well stocked tea room serving food and beverages.
The museum itself while small, has lots of historic signs, equipment and rail-related items to view for train enthusiasts.
I would love to see some descriptive plaques or sheets explaining what some of the equipment is.
There are two interactive areas in the museum. Firstly the railway levers upstairs at the back of the museum allow you to follow written instructions and set the different configurations needed to allow trains to pass from right to left and vice versa.
Secondly, there is a working isolated automatic telephone exchange, with a number of old style telephones that can call eachother. When you pick up the handset, you can actually hear and watch the exchange working. Wonderful for introducing children to telephony and old technology.
Brilliant place!
