The Old Moathouse - Kidwelly - Photo album

While visiting Kidwelly Castle, we discovered this little gem of a place. We were hungry and it was right outside the castle. Lovely countryside restaurant/pub and the food served was absolutely incredible. The battered fried Squid was delicious, and so was the Pate. Sunday Roast, Lamb was fabulous,
Food was fantastic, especially enjoyed the seafood dishes, croquetas and the Sobrassada with fried egg. Cheese board with excellent too with loads of Welsh cheeses. Bar was great and they had a good selection of Welsh craft beers. Location is great next to Kidwelly Castle. The atmosphere is lovely i
What a lovely little place. All unusual beer on tap and tapas style menu. We eat quite a selection and every dish was stunning. Big group of us which all enjoyed.
A very nice surprise after visiting Kidwelly Castle. Great atmosphere, corteous service, top notch beer, and delicious food. I had the oxtail marmalade which was recommended and I wholeheartedly second it.
Our group of four ladies spent a wonderful evening at The Moathouse. Excellent food and a wide variety of wines, real ales, spirits and cocktails. One of our party only drinks a specific brand of spirits and Hamish bought it in specially as he doesn’t normally stock it - he also had a bit of fun wi
Wow! Superb range of beers, wine & spirits. Friendly staff in a beautiful setting in the shadow of the castle. Food was an absolute treat.
A refreshing place for a pint - does make a nice change from all the usual mining pubs around. I think we'll be coming here regularly. Plenty of unique ales on tap and will definitely be trying the food here very soon - tapas looks amazing. Also great outdoor space!
Very surprised to discover this hidden gem. This is a must visit. Every dish gives the sense of clear effort by the chefs. I've eaten a lot of cheesecake but by far this was the best yet. Highly recommended and our waiter Caius was outstanding! On top of my return list for sure!
My son (11) and I arrived at the late end of lunch time and was amazed to be able to be seated as I know by the reviews it’s a popular place to dine. (We did not pre book but would recommend doing so) Food arrived promptly and was all correct. And ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. I can’t fault anything we had.
Had the best marguerita ever, followed by another one... wonderful tapas, friendly staff, set in a beautiful location by the castle. Lovely place to spend a warm summers evening
