Review The Shower Of Herring - Kilmelford

Collection of self catering cottages and apartments many of which I think were formerly farm buildings which have been upgraded to a good standard. On site there is a range leisure facilities including a restaurant & bar, swimming pool (quite small but temperature ideal) with jacuzzi & sauna, gym, tennis and putting. Overall a very welcoming and comfortable experience. Also very welcoming for our dog as there was a welcome box containing a number of items including a toy (which he loves), biscuits and a bowl.

My wife and I stayed at "Blacksmith Cottage" right by the tennis court. We enjoyed our week there very much. Great restaurant on site, great staff... Highly recommend Milford Village !

I found this accomodation after being let down by an online booking agency. Well. 'every cloud' as they say! Lovely location, very good accommodation and if you have kids, there's plenty to keep them occupied. The staff were very friendly. Highly recommended.

Been coming to Melfort since it opened when I was tot, now I can bring my tot here. Beautiful, peaceful healing place. Great facilities, my daughter loves the playground, play room and pool. Very helpful friendly staff too. The cottages are decorated and furnished to a high standard and regularly maintained. Very dog friendly too, my dog loves his holidays here, particularly the big enclosed paddock for a good run.

Great ability to respond to our request on short notice and be able to accommodate us within an hour or so from us from ringing up as our original destination was substandard. Great facilities, friendly staff, and a superb tranquil location with lovely walks in the area. Our little one loved it too. Great week overall and would love to come back again in the future. Restaurant food was delicious too but it was sad to hear that they were finishing up and I wish them well and hope that the offer doesn't change too much.

Spent three days here as part of a short break. A very warm welcome at the reception on arrival and given lots of intercontinental about the village and local areas. Lots of things to do in the village including swimming, putting, swimming, walking, fishing. Scenery is terrific. Lots of places to go and visit and the local scenery is beautiful with lots of water and mountains

Superb location and beautiful accommodation. Nice swimming pool, sauna and Jacuzzi. Terrific base for local walks. Had a great night in The Shower of Herring at the music night. Good value drinks, house white wine very nice and reasonable selection of bottled beers and of course whiskies.

Beautiful setting. Lovely clean and comfortable farmhouse with plenty space. Could have done with bigger fridge as nearest supermarket is in Oban 16 miles away and 8 in group. Enjoyed the tennis, swimming, putting and even caught mackerel at Melfort Pier just half a mile along the road.

Strictly recommend that place with delicious food, lovely lady owner, friendly atmosphere and dogs are welcome :-)

Just had fish and chips to take away- absolutely lovely. Chips were lovely and the beer batter was gorgeous on the fish. So great to have lovely food available on site at Melfort Village again!

My husband son and I had a lovely meal there also great service from the staff and will certainly be back again and would recommend to anyone x

I was up for my mums timeshare week and had a great meal a few weeks ago 10/10 � This week I was up for my week and we used the bar daily and had a meal last night which was excellent again... well done Kat! Great food, great service and you made us feel very welcome every night we came in �� hopefully we will get up again this year !! Have a busy season, Best wishes, Billy.

Italian chicken special served with a choice of veg, chip, rice, salad, I had rice and salad with mine, absolutely wonderful tastes and presentation. Warm welcome by Kat for myself and my dog. Love the change of decor. Keep up the good work x

Visited a week after new management took over. Very efficient service. Ordered Halal chicken curry. Freshly cooked to order. Couldn't fault it. Will visit again.
