Went for lunch on Tuesday, I had liver and bacon with onion gravy with well done chips. Fantastic, I even asked for a spoon to deal with the gravy. Never had better. My wife had chicken pie and also cleared the plate. The host is a cockney diamond who talks proper. I love this pub and will start use use it more oft3n.
We are massive fans. Always a warm welcome & real tasty proper pub food! Nothing is to Much trouble & the drinks and food are both very well priced! There is always the special personal touches at the Fox that you don’t get in other pubs! No where better for our family nights out
We booked for Sunday lunch as a party of 10. In our group were vegans, vegetarians, enthusiastic meat eaters, a soup only, a crackling nut and some double mix and match desserters. Well, Darren, Dean and their family did not disappoint in this well run and delightfully cheerful family pub. Mum in the kitchen catered for each and every one of us while her sons and grandson kept us well oiled and happy. Nothing was too much trouble, extra gravy? - no problem, more mint sauce? - of course, more wine? - that's absolutley fine! We were even checked on by their glamorous Mother In Law. Traditional, tasty food - every plate cleared and service you'd pay extra for. Recommend a million times.
Had our monthly lunch here with friends. What superb food and a brilliant host. I had the steak and kidney pie. It was delicious only my wife’s could beat it. Juicy filling with tender kidney and beef al in a delicious tasty gravy. My wife the beef mince pie and she said this excellent. Our friends has steak and Guinness pie and a vegetarian stroganoff. They said it was lovely. One of the best lunch at a pub for ages. Nothing was to much trouble with the host. By the number of diners this place is really popular, I think it’s best to book. Will definitely go again
Stopped for lunch,staff very welcoming,found us a table and we were served quickly great meat pies with chips and vegetables lovely puddings, great choice and good food
Called in at the Fox and Hounds for an early evening dinner after a day on the Norfolk coast. Welcome couldnt have been friendlier, and tuesday being pie night specials, we had to try one of the homemade pies. It was a large portion and totally delicious, and being specials night cost the princely sum of £6.50 each. Wonderful value and wonderful staff. Would fully recommend a visit.
From the moment we entered the place, welcomed and made to feel like a regular. Nothing is too much trouble. Very clean! Now the food..... where to start? I can honestly say that the chicken and mushroom pie is the best I have ever tasted in my 46 years! Vegetables al dente, gravy divine. I will definitely be going again.... and will be having pie again.... I had lemon and lime cheesecake for dessert.... delicious. Thank you for a perfect visit x
We heave been there a few times the food was very good and wine the right price and the staff very helpfull - well worth a vist
Went here for Sunday dinner on recommendation. Service first class from the two chaps running the bar etc.Food and atmosphere superb.Looking forward to going again.
The food here is AMAZING! All cooked properly and the homemade pies (made by Mum) are delicious. I am really fussy about eating out but I would definitely eat here again. Friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
Calling in on the off chance at a low point in my life, my spirits were immediately uplifted by a friendly and genuine welcome. Loved the host and the good selection of beer! We both chose homemade pie albeit different with veg. None of these manufactured tasteless pies here but delightful homemade with lots of tasty veg. Almost pleasantly rustic and piping hot. Now we don't normally have dessert but in view of our experience to date we had delicious homemade fruit pie and custard. My wife had tasty meringue pie. A thoroughly enjoyable experience and we will be back soon. There are tables outside on the lawn and there is adequate car parking.
This is the place in Norfolk for fresh, homecooked food served by two of the friendliest brothers around. It's the first place family want to visit when they come to Norfolk. The pies are amazing and there's always a great selection. I must have been here dozens of times and it's always the pie for me. If you are nearby you must pop in. If you are not nearby then you are missing out.

Superb meal. Liver & bacon was delicious, lots to choose from on menu. Lovely fresh vegetables, extra gravy, nothing too much trouble. Dessert menu just as good. Will definitely be eating here again!!
We often eat at the Fox and Hounds. Everyone gets a warm welcome - even if you haven't been there before you are greeted like an old friend. The food is always plentiful and delicious. The menu is good, normal, home-cooked food. We do go to other places but haven't found a better one yet.
Went on steak night and had the steak with extras. A fantastic tasty sirloin steak and great value. The homemade pies looked really good and a friend who had one raved over it. The landlord is very friendly and attentive which is very refreshing even though the dining room and one bar was almost full. You really feel welcome even if you havent been before. Good ales and good service. Can understand why it is so popular and gets excellent reviews. Very reasonable cost. Not fine dining but excellent overall. Will visit again. Well done.
We regularly go to the Fox and Hounds with our friends. You are always greeted with a friendly smile and banter. The food is plentiful and delicious. It is home-cooked and 'normal'. Pie night and steak night are great value and you always get a good plateful. Thoroughly recommend this place.
My wife and I were staying in the area and were recommended to the Fox and Hounds. As soon as we entered we were greeted warmly and were made to feel welcome. The selection of meals offered was excellent especially the vegetarian options. It was beautifully cooked and presented. The desserts were mouth-watering also.and all of this at reasonable prices.. We revisited the following evening and the experience was repeated along with some friendly banter from behind the bar and with fellow customers.. If you are looking for a relaxed evening out as well as a decent meal, then look no further. Paul&Margaret Rayner
The Fox and Hound is a lovely family run village pub that serves home cooked pub grub. Last orders on food are at 8pm in the week but they catered for our late arrival after a phone call which was really appreciated. Myself and my partner both had the pie, peas and chips with gravy and it was delicious. All staff was very welcoming and friendly and the menu and drink prices are good prices too. If I’m the area when we return to Norfolk we will definitely eat here again.

We visited for Sunday lunch with our friends who eat there often. We could not fault anything, lovely local butchers meat and lots of different vegetables which make such a nice change. Everything piping hot. Good selection of desserts, sticky toffee pudding with lots of custard, hopefully this will be kept on menu as was told it was a new dessert. Such reasonable prices, good value for money. Nothing too much trouble when asking for something. We will definitely be returning!
