Pub is a really good size, plenty of space for drinkers, lovers of sport or people wanting to have a meal. Clean and tidy, nicely lit, and plenty of light from outside. Chap behind the bar was friendly, polite, and always smiling. Great service here, although it did get very busy at the bar area for people to order food. Top tip - download the green king app and order it there, less hassle! Has a pool table, which was really good fun. The food was amazing, I had a gravy chicken burger along with garlic bread and cheese, and it was hot, full of flavour. Absolutely spot on, so hats off to the chef, please manager. They also open for breakfasts, which are huge and very well priced. Overall, it's a really good pub. It's definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. I will definitely be back.

A very enjoyable evening at this fine establishment jaden who served us was fantastic great customer service skills backed up.with ridiculous good looks this young man is destined for.great things.Pity that.the manager Jordan is constantly looking over his shoulder. The waitress Sam was also great 10 out 10 I will definitely be calling at this place again. Well done team .

This is our first visit to the gate going kings lynn and I must say we will be definitely coming back. We was greeted with warm energetic lady called Kathryn who was bubbly and could not do enough for us. The food was good the service excellent and we enjoyed a few hours there before we went to our holiday home. A big thank you to Kathryn and all the staff at the gate house.

The food was nice but the customer service needs a slight improvement. Some staff lacked dining etiquette, by being abrupt with their service. Our waitress Emily however was very good and friendly. The older members of staff could learn something from her.

There's not much to be able to comment on early in the morning, with only 6 or 7 people eating in a huge space. Breakfast was really nice and not expensive 2 for the price of 1 menu. Thank you Cliff

Can i just say, Emily is a really good waitress she has worked really well in a busy restaurant and under pressure most off the time but maintains her smile, and never fails to put a smile on her customers faces. Always a positive attitude also looks Professional while working. even though people try and come in and knock her down and to put a bad name on Emily. It’s only making her stronger. Emily is a great asset to the team and believes in hard work and teamwork

Quite a regular in this pub as I just can’t help returning since the food and staff are always perfect! Management has changed and I must say for the better. This place is so much cleaner, running smoother and overall a lot better than it used to be, everyone is a credit to the team. Found a table for us easily enough. Metal table numbers all missing from the tables but number written in marker pen on menu holder?! Went upto the bar to order ; was a well long queue. 1 person serving...food and drinks! Eventually a 2nd person appeared behind the bar. Ordered food . Did not have to wait long. Food was very good with larger portions than other Hungry Horse pubs we have been to(they were not small). We were very happy with the food. 1 negative: a member of staff walked past us and lets just say ...he lacks personal hygiene

My partner offered to go to Nandos tonight for a family dinner, but i said we better of going to Hungry Horse as its lovely weather and we can eat outside and food is nice as well. Oh what a mistake i’ve made... We spent around £35 there for 2 mains, 1 starter, 2 kids meals and some drinks, and the only thing from all of this, which was nice - chicken wings for a starter. My partners porky platter was not tasty at all, especially ribs, they seemed like a boiled and very dry. Oh and that coleslaw for a side! We haven even noticed in until later, probably because of so “big” pot. My jumbo crispy chicken (or something like that) disnt have cheese melted on it, just grated on top, lookes like unfinished dish, also too much ketchup on it and chicken did taste very watery. Kids meals... no comments about that, looked like someone just got meals from Mcdonalds and put them on the plates, carrots were super dry, like they were lying there for days, not worth taking kids there really. The whole serving style - do not forget its a “restaurant”, and you have to at least serve it nicely, for us it looked very messy, which you dont expect from restaurants. Overall, kids enjoyed their slushes, and i enjoyed chicken wings for starter and thats all about it. Oh and of course 35 minutes waiting time didnt make it better. I think this is the last time we were eating at hungry horse, good luck in your business.

Terrible, Hubby & I went for a breakfast here as we were told it was very good quality & good value. I wish we hadn't bothered, ok I'm a bit more fussy but hubby will eat pretty much anything in the breakfast line & even he didn't finish it. The eggs were like rubber with literally rock hard centres, the sausages looked as if they had been microwaved as the was not a bit of colour on them, The bacon was colourful but in several broken pieces & cold, the hash browns were like eating a piece of lard in a batter with no flavour to them whatsoever & the toast had clearly burnt and been scraped. Oh we did get 3 button mushrooms each that were edible but all in all a complete fail. They give you the opportunity to add a drink to your breakfast for £1.20 but you can literally have tea/coffee, water or so called orange juice. You don't expect freshly squeezed juice but this was undrinkable it was so sour, happy shopper tastes better. When our meal came out, before we had even picked our knives & forks up someone came out to ask if everything was ok which at the time it was as we hadn't started eating it. We never saw another person the whole time we were there so we couldn't say how disappointed we were had we have wanted to. Hubby drank his coffee & ate his burnt toast simply because he is a diabetic & had done is injection so he had to eat something, then we left. Again not a single member if staff to be seen. I would suggest going to Mc Donalds just 200 yards away because not only is it cheaper you get better quality that this muck and you do get a decent drink if nothing else.

Was rather busy when we arrived with a party of 6 which is always a good sign. The party consisted of 3 children & 3 adults. We didn't have long to wait for a table and we're sat down quite quickly. The staff were really attentive but not over the top. One of the staff asked if the 3 children would like crayons and a colouring sheet whilst we looked through the menu. The gigantic gammon steak meal was very nice and the quadruple burger was worth every penny of the £11.49. Not too many fries on the plate but hey the main ingredient was the burger. Only down side was that they only served soft drinks ( in large glasses ) and too big for some to handle. All in all a good meal for not a great deal of money. If you want somthing fancy then this is not for you.

I booked a table at the Gatehouse for a group of 9 having their Christmas Party. The server was very attentive, friendly and helpful. One of my friends is gluten intolerant and the server's knowledge of the menu and the ingredients was fantastic. Thank-you so much, we will definitely be back!

Have just got home from this afternoons family meal and have never been so disappointed in all my life with the level of service, quality and attitude of certain members of staff. Firstly I fully understand the premise of spending more for better quality at a higher end establishment, however on a Saturday, with 4 children in tow we thought it a good shout to stop in for a spot of grub. We also had a £10 gift voucher towards an order of over £30 so that swayed us. Now we ordered our food and drinks and upon all of us taking a sip from our soft drinks discovered that the flavour / taste was off. There was 4 diet cokes and there was no "fizz" and they had a horrible "twang" to them. I took them back to the Till to be told that I am lying and that there is nothing wrong with them. A gentleman then tasted his freshly poured drink to say that the flavour is off and was told there was nothing wrong. I asked if it could be checked to be told nothing was wrong. There was no fizz in the glasses present at all. Begrudgingly the server then re-poured 4 new ones with two once again being flat. My my wife then went up to ask what is going on as she was greeted by another member of the bar team to exclaim that indeed they were not right and she offered us 2 replacements from a bottle. I understand that 4 diet coca-cola's are not the be all and end all but at near £10 for 4 and to have to ask more than once for it to be looked into, with being told I am a liar did not put the experience off to a good start. Our starter arrived without one of the dips which was a pain and after waiting 3 minutes for it we gave up and just ate. When our main courses arrived our starter plate was not removed - causing some slight issues with space at the table but we coped as we were all ready for our meals. My sons dinner was a £5 double burger plate that had half the chips of the £2.99 singular meal and had what can only be described as salad picked from 1999.... The carrots looked like they had been left out to cure for years and them alone put my son off of that part of his meal. My meal was served with a large portion of Egg shell present and center stage on display too. All in all I am really annoyed with the level of service and quality on show today. We used to use the facilities regularly, bringing family members with us if we had them visit as it was a nice, refreshing and easy - good quality meal and experience but after today I won't be coming back in a hurry, if at all. The staff need to be correctly trained and quality levels with the food and drinks being served really need to be addressed. If you are planning on eating here it might be worth looking twice at how busy it is and thinking long and hard about it, we will that's for sure. One very dissatisfied customer 😥

Manager very rude, only me stood at bar, she saw me & ignored me then proceeded to serve someone else who came in after me. Then another customer came in & she went to serve them at which point I shouted up. She responded by saying there was a queue to which I replied "yes I know & I'm at the front". She then told me I was stood in the wrong place. Once I was finally served I sat down & a while later my food was brought over, unfortunately with no cutlery. The waitress said she would bring some over, meanwhile whilst waiting I had eaten all my chips (chicken going cold), I shouted her & she apologised & said she would bring it over (again). Not a good experience, give it a miss!

We had a lovely meal there yesterday, 16/09/17. There were six of us and it was an excellent night. The bar staff were great, food, took a while, but we knew it would be. It was very busy there, but worth waiting for. Desserts were great, but couldn't finish mine as I was so full. Definitely recommend the Gatehouse

The food was absolutely terrible!!!!! My husband and I both had fish and chips. Both of us left most of it as it wasn't cooked. It was all only just luke warm and we both had bad stomachs that evening as a consequence. The children's 8+ portion of Mac n cheese wouldn't feed a baby, let alone an 8 yr old!!! Overall absolutely dreadful. Would not recommend and would never return!!!

Having a birthday meal at the hungry horse kings lynn. Went to take little ones to the toilet came back and the food had gone. Didn't ask anyone sat at the table just assumed the children had done which they werent.

Good choice on the menu with some great offers too. A few good ales to choose from or you can double up on spirits for £1. The service was good, we didn't wait too long and the food was very nice. If you're after a night off from the cooking you can't go wrong.

Can't say I enjoyed my meal, lasagna was Luke warm and returned to be replaced. Friends fish and chips looked great till she found a dark brown hair in it and returned that too.... Deserts were good but experience wasn't.....

We came last weekend for the £15 family deal, amazing value! I had fish and chips and it was easily the best fish I've ever had. We often come and it is generally really good, my only ask is for an indoor play area, thank you for the delicious meals and great service!!
