I dined at this pub and it was great. The food was excellent, and I highly recommend trying their delicious Scotch Egg, a true specialty. The service was friendly and attentive, making the visit even more enjoyable. The interior was comfortable and inviting.

Brilliant. Good food, well-sized portions, excellent service. We had a lot of fun while enjoying a good meal. Worth the trip from Dover!

Excellent food and service, dont waste your time going up the hill when you have a lovely welcoming place like this. Phoned to ask if they were doing food and nice lady booked us a table. On arrival table was waiting ready for us, no waiting. Food was served in good time and was very nice. We will be back

Went here for our last night of our holiday. Food and desserts were delicious and my kids really liked it too. Even a homemade bowling alley outside. Would definitely visit again

Lovely food and the portions were generous. My only problems was the knives were not sharp enough to cut the meat. However, the meat was lovely and tender. Enjoyed the meal, staff were friendly and the restaurant was clean and tidy.

Wonderful pub, has several vegetarian options such as a delicious Halloumi Burger. Unfortunately they don't normally do take out, but there is plenty of seating in the pub itself, or, for a bit more quiet, in the pub's backyard garden. Dog friendly.

Above and beyond, despite being well booked up, they tried their hardest to fit us in. Two people and a dog 🐕 that's no mean feat. The food was top-notch, and just perfect, as was the service and staff well done all.

I've popped in here a few times in my visits to Kingsdown. I always find the staff and patrons to be very friendly. Recently we had Sunday Roast there and it was pretty good. Easy to get a reservation too.

This place was a life saver for me. I had just trudged 2 hours in blistering heat from Dover to Deal and I was desperate for refreshment! The barmaids smile was the most welcome sight I could've imagined at that point and the 2x ice cold orange juices she served me were godsent! She filled my refillable bottle with beautiful cold water too. It was literally heaven here!

We didn't eat here last night, but saw some wonderful looking food being served. We stayed for a few drinks. The staff were brilliant, really friendly, chatty and helpful. The atmosphere is one of a friendly and welcoming locals pub.

The Rising Sun is a very nice bright yet cosy local pub minutes from the beach. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the food was excellent. Good quality with decent portions and sensible prices. There is a good selection of drinks, including draft ales. We will definitely be returning next time we are in the area. Booking is recommended as it was nicely busy throughout the lunch service.

Just had a lovely lunch with the kids at The Rising Sun. Lovely friendly staff, lots of GF options including the fish and chips which is a rare GF treat. All washed down with a yummy bottle of Côtes du Rhône rose. This is our second visit here, and we will definitely return.

Great place for a meal. Eleven of us and every meal was perfect, including the two fussy ones. The chef popped out for a chat with our “gluten free” one. Landlord was very welcoming and all staff were friendly. Would definitely recommend the Rising Sun.

Our 1st visit. Great family meal here tonight on a hot summers eve. Lovely atmosphere & friendly staff. Always dubious when eating out at places with a large group as quite often it comes out wrong or cold, but here the food was really lovely and came out all together. The owner and chef were really kind in adapting a pudding for one person who is Celiac. Definitely recommend a visit here. Though I would book ahead. It does get busy.

Fantastic meal this evening at the Rising Sun. Steak cooked to perfection and the liver & bacon was superb. Compared to the fine dining we had on holiday this was as good if not better! Well done to all, same time next week!

We had dinner here this weekend with friends from Wiltshire and we had a fantastic time. The place was buzzing, very friendly and had a lovely, relaxed atmosphere. The food was delicious and reasonable priced - and there was plenty of it! We didn’t realise we’d been there so long until all the children started yawning! We’ll be back again soon for sure x

This has to be the most friendliest pub we have ever been too, the staff and the locals made us feel really welcome. We had dinner here 3 days in a row while camping nearby, we can highly recommend the steak and the roast beef Sunday lunch. Cooked to perfection every time. We had a fantastic evening on Sunday watching the skittles team play a match, a very big thank you to all the team members who made it a night to remember. Will definitely be back and have recommended it to everyone we know.

A very pleasant pub, with good food. Today I had the best ham, egg and chips I've ever had. Proper thick slices of hand carved ham and plenty of it. Highly recommended.
