A hidden gem in a sea of cafes. The fish was fresh, large and to describe it as good is an understatement, was excellent. Chips, real Hull chips. Friendly and efficient staff, a little pricey, yes, but well worth it. Sat outside on a glorious lunchtime. For sure will be back.

Had a really lovely meal here at Papas last night. The outdoor seating area is lovely and the seats really comfortable. This is our second time here and we highly recommend it both in terms of food quality and exceptional service for the staff. Dianne and the team make you so welcome, thanks to you all.
Best fish and chips I have ever had. Big portions. Friendly staff. The menu was like a newspaper, very cool.
I have never eaten better fish and chips anywhere else. The atmosphere is calm and pleasant, the waiters and waitresses were friendly and interacted in conversation. And they let me take a kids menu which had a certificate on the other side that said I went to Papa's... I still have it
Saw a sign in the window that said 'Britains best fish and chip's ' so had to stop and try some. It certainly was delicious. The staff are very welcoming, friendly and helpful so a big thanks to Jack and Natasha, and a special thanks to Courteney who served us. If you're in Hull looking for a great fish and chip restaurant then this is the place.
What a place to have traditional Fish & Chips! They call it Classic I call it a Legend.
Batter represents a golden middle point between crispy and soft, and is so thinly applied that the haddock itself is there, within your reach ;)
Yummy Sunday fish and chips themed brunch at Papa's.
Best fish & chips I've tasted. Went there with two friends & we were all very impressed. We ordered the 'seniors' fish & chips & there was more than enough & the price was excellent. The mushy peas were delicious & the homemade tartar sauce was fantastic. The service from great & Diane was friendly, efficient & helpful.
This was my first visit to Papa's. Very well decorated. Tasteful without being snobbish. The whole establishment was spotlessly clean. Staff very well turned out. Polite, courteous and helpful. They maintained a descrite distance, but were always ready to help. Metal teapots that don't dribble all over the place. I had medium haddock, chips and mushy peas, and a couple of slices of brown bread and butter, and a pot of Yorkshire tea. Everything was cooked to perfection. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. All this for £11.16, which I thought was very reasonable. Large range of meals, not just fish and chips. Believe me, Papa's reputation for excellence is well deserved. Treat yourself. You won't be disappointed.
Same menu as other Papas. Staff young and not experienced but try hard to please. Wife's gluten free haddock excellent. Gluten free on demand is helpful. My pie very good. Ran out of syrup sponge again. Not for the first time at Papas. Nice little new branch worth a visit.
Visited Papas on Princes Dock st, Hull City Centre after work with my wife and three friends, We were greeted by Diane who I must say is the nicest manager I have met in a long time, we all enjoyed our meal very much. One of our friends (from Malawi ) didn’t know we would be having Fish & Chips had no trouble clearing her plate even though she said she didn’t want any, another said it was the best she’s had in Hull, and I have to say that even though I like my Fish & Chips in paper that the paper would not have improved anything, so that’s a big thumbs up 👍 to Ellis the Chef and Paul who were busy in the kitchen and still smiling.
The two girls who were serving our table were great and a credit to Diane the manager. Will certainly be going again
and maybe for their afternoon tea which i haven’t tried yet but have been told was very good. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
