It's a typical 'Spoons', nothing more, nothing less. Cheap drinks and Food. Affordable tasty pub grub. Had the Buttermilk Chicken Burger that comes with Chips and a San Miguel, plus 12 Onion Rings for a total of 12GBP. Food was fresh and tasty, Beer crisp and cold. Nothing wrong here!

‘Never to far away’ which I think is a quote from a song by Boy George. This was written on the front door of this fantastic house of ale. All I can say is that is that it was ‘Never to far away’ I found a spoon on the floor

Out of the two JDW visited in the city centre this is my favourite.
Very nice beer garden, impressive original interior and an architecturally important historic building.
I had a reliable Oakham ale, which was very good .
Will return

Regular visitor of Weatherspoons, Monday night we decided after watching the movie to pop in for some food and drinks, ended up leaving midnight closing time after mutiple drinks each we barely spend £60 includes food
I was ordering Disarano and Regular Pepsi at £2.28p a drink. Where else can you get that price?
As a regular drinker of Disarano, it tasted perfect
The table service was spot on and the app was very easy to use

Been to this Spoons a few times now, it’s a medium sized pub located in a former Edwardian Post Office.
It has a large beer garden. Food has always been good here.

Spoons is spoons. You know what you're going to get which is reassuring. Took a little while to clear the last peoples plates from around us but it was a busy Saturday night. Everything was as it should be.

This is one of the nicer Spoons. Although it was a Tuesday evening, it was relatively busy but service at the bar and the food was quick. Good choice of ales and had 2 dark ales which you should expect during winter. Food was palatable with the only gripe being the cheesy chips which was a bowl of chips with a sprinkle of grated cheese on top. After the top layer, it was a standard bowl of chips. I will be in Hull a few times each month and will definitely be dining here again.

3 John Scott's seen to be he'll bent on destroying the planet, doors left wide open in winter to counter a defective thermostat on the heating system, no parking for cycleists and a point blank refusal to let them put the bike in the beer garden, the one saving grace they had was that they endured my activism with good grace and didn't get the police in who always sin bin me for the full 24 hours, which is a chore to be honest but does make me appreciate being free

This was a relaxing pub to go for a drink at, with a glorious design that really echoes the atmosphere of Hull! The counter is well-presented and the staff were friendly, listing out different options then serving me my chosen drink quickly. I really enjoyed Rum with Pepsi and the seating is comfortable, situated at a sparkling clean table!

Cheap, cheerful and clean. Can ask for more. Staff were friendly and served quickly all night. Didn't have anything to eat but others around us did and it smells lovely.

as an out of town visitor to Hull, this is the second time I have been here, and when in Hull, I will always seek this pub, as I did yesterday, as the atmosphere and food is very good, staff are friendly... and the craft ales are always in excellent condition... only question I have is, who in the pub gets the say so on what is on the tv to watch, as I was happily watching a programme, only for a customer request to switch ot over to what they wanted on... would recommend this pub in Hull

I ordered a pastrami bagel and asked for no mustard. Despite this I was given extra mustard instead of none, plus the bagel didn't have any butter on and was dry, very unsatisfied ! But the on the plus side stafff was lovely and meal was quick !

Currently sat having a lovely meal with the misses... The service is good, the food is spot on...HOWEVER...this is the second time we've dined here and a pervy old geezer has been snooping at the how do put this... "potential"... I get it a guy has needs, but moving seat to get a better view at a woman's chest... BIT disconcerting... Good fun! Can't knock this place!

When it's busy the bar staff appear to have no idea who has been waiting longest to be served. Yesterday, however myself and partner were the only people at the bar with one barman doing do something to a beer pump. Another customer walked up as a barmaid came from the kitchen and served him straight away! Clueless. Poor service seems to be unique to Wetherspoons in Hull as elsewhere in the country you seem to get served in turn and with a smile. Good job it's cheap
Julie Diane
service was quick
was a bit disappointed with the chicken burger as the chicken was overcooked and a bit tough
Alan Bowman
Unfortunately the food I received was unedible . I had to replace it and get another one. This took a further 25 minutes in which time my wife had already finished her meal. The staff were helpful but an offer of a further drink was not helpful as I was driving. I have been in many Weatherspoons, especially in the one in my home town of Ashby de la Zouch where I find the food excellent.
Vicky Slack
First time in 20 years I've had to ask for a refund because our food just didn't turn up?! Lol.
Waited an hour and barmaid couldn't even give us a time how long more it would be.
The only answer was "We're really understaffed"
Oh great. Tell my 3 starving kids.
I daren't... :/
Janet Farrer
Becķys fish was all curled up and chewy! I complained and the lad said but I asked you guys if your meals were ok you said Yes! ....well that was as he put them down in front of us...then he was gone and no chance to say anything else cos once she started to eat it that's when they should come and ask for cliffs sake! Xxx

Saturday tea time, sunny and an extra 23,000 people in Hull and 3JS's don't have burgers 😱.
Dirty tables and a general lack of staff. Maybe it was a bad day !

Had a mixed grill was rubbish, which when you consider admirals food is spot on it's strange as it's the same chain!
Kim Montgomery

Need to take care of the disabled lift area very dirty it made an old man very uncomfortable having to go through a dirty place
Barbara Longman
It is everything one expects of a Wetherspoon's pub. It has it's individual décor in keeping with the building. There is the usual menu with the standard of price, cooking, presentation and efficient service.
Jan Pickersgill
I was in hull on a night out from Selby and cáme upon this pub on my travels.... fab place to be on a Saturday night!
Christine Barr
Excellent food at a great price! Very friendly, helpful staff. We will be back :)

Staff lovely. However the food is lukewarm and our chips were over done and tasteless. Tables were left dirty and cluttered for ages despite staff walking by .
