The Skull Collector Huxley
After sorting our entry tickets, up to cafe area and entrance. Had drinks and eats treat after our journey. Then, entered what we consider now to be the best aquarium experience of all. Interesting info and fantastic exhibits of past and present aqua environments. The massive central tank is seen through many viewing windows as you journey down through the levels. The option at the end of The Deep experience is to leave from the ground level or take stairs or lift to get more views of the wonderful sharks etc of the central tank. On the way out a brilliant gift shop awaits exploration and purchase of great gifts - keepsakes.

Loved it. Even my teenage son was vaguely interested, which is no mean feat. The ticket lasts for the year so plan to go back despite a long drive. Not particularly cheap entry, but everything is well kept and some beautiful sites. If you take your time maybe up to 3 hours. Would recommend stairs at the end and the lift if you want, the stairs you take at your own pace, I spent half an hour at the varying heights. Cafe on site. Parking is about 4 quid

Really good day out. We spent about 2.5 hours here. We thought it was just an aquarium but found the exhibits really informative with lots of information, more like a museum. I love that our tickets mean we can come back again and again for free for a whole year. Lots of interactivity for little ones and ramps made it really accessible. Lots of food options in the restaurant and a well stocked gift shop.

This place is pretty cool. The whole site is set up really well so as you walk around nobody is in your way,you can take your time reading and watching all to see. We did go on a Saturday and was very full of families with children but was still enough room to experience everything.
We thought the entry fee was a bit high at first but then realized it was for a whole year entry but even without a full years entry we thought it was worth the cost. It is also a non profit project helping our seas and wildlife so was happy to help out a good cause.

My fiancé loves animals. She wanted to visit as The Deep are friendly & look after all their animals. We both loved the visit. So informative & great value for money. Would happily go again

I visited today for my 50th birthday with my family, had an amazing time, as I'm disabled I was worried about access but no problems everything was easy to walk to and see, plus there was plenty of seating around. The exhibits and animals were incredible a day i'll never forget. I would highly recommend it to anyone young or old.

Wonderful day out for our little boy, he loved every minute of seeing the fish with lots more for older children too. Quite expensive at £40 for the trip for two of us however we can return whenever we want throughout the year. Overall lovely family trip

We come to the deep often as we live locally. It's fun for both the kids and adults and it's enclosed enough to let my 2 year old have a little freedom to explore.
Today we were pleasantly surprised to find some (free!!) Sensory activities going on at the halfway cafe. These weren't very well advertised, so I'll be keeping my eyes peeled for any future events as there was SO MUCH for my 2 year old to do in a relaxing environment with really friendly staff. It was the perfect spot to breastfeed my 7 week old also, while my 2 year old was entertained.
Would recommend to anyone with little ones from newborn up to teens!

The deep is a lovely experience. Tickets aren't too expensive and it's in a great area. The entire aquarium is built so well and I love the additional areas that let you see into how the deep is kept up and running and how all of the animals are well looked after and maintained. All the staff we spoke to were lovely and it's nice and easy to navigate. There are lots of wonderful areas with great sensory experiences for kids and adults too. Great variety of aquatic life.

Brilliant, large aquarium. Main attractions are a large coral reef, a huge, three storey tank with sharks, rays and a sawfish and the gentoo penguins.
Lots of interactive stations for children to manipulate, which aren't as "dumbed down" as in many other attractions, museums etc these days.
There's a decent cafe, though not at all sure that fish fingers or scampi are appropriate to serve in it 🤣.
Simple to get to and parking is easy, with a large car park immediately outside (£3.75 for 5 hours). The website advises you to book in advance - a good idea at weekends and during school holidays, otherwise unnecessary.

Myself and family included very much enjoyed our last visit. It wasn't very busy so we got to walk round at our own pace and enjoy all they had to offer. Beautiful exhibits and engaging kids activities throughout. Would recommend to anyone with kids!

Had a brilliant time at The Deep today. So much to see and do.
They have put a lot of time and investment into this gem of a place to make it a good day out and educational for families and visitors alike.
The young tour guide Billy was fantastic, so passionate about the animals and clearly loves his role there.
Well done to the people who make it happen and work hard to ensure the care and conservation of the animals there 👏 x

Young kids and sea lovers will be captivated with this place … what you see simply can’t be done outside of a large aquarium which this is. Be prepared to stay a while in front of the views of the fish to make the most of the experience. The two large tanks are HUGE and the fish move about so stay and watch and soak in the experience. The tunnel towards the end is here I think you get some of the best views of the large tank. And if you can do the lift and steps (have to go around twice) but the steps offer multiple stop off points to view in the tank. Final tip, your ticket is valid for a year so think about the repeat visits. 👍🙏
Carers discount (free) if you’ve the usual carers evidence.

What a lovely afternoon. This place is amazing. It's been years since I went to an aquarium. They've certainly moved on a bit! We took 4 children and we all had a great time. Good gift shop and reasonably priced.

A great educational aquarium full of fish and information. Spread out over many floors, there is loads to see inside. The tank with the swordfish in is mesmerising. Nice cafe and gift shop, also parking available for a charge.

Easy way to spend a couple of hours with the family. Can seem expensive but you get return visit for a year free. For the summer holidays we expected more child related activities to be on the go and fun zones.

Was really informative and basically like a museum for the history of the planet and evolution. There were not as many creatures as some aquariums but it was still a great day out. The best part for the children was an interactive sand play area which was really clever. The queue was really long and it was quite loud but still well worth the trip and good value for money.

Excellent day out. The building is well signposted and accessible. The facilities are clean, well lit and smell pleasant. The staff are all helpful and knowledgeable about the animals. The ticket is well worth the money, as they're also annual passes as standard.
