Restaurant has been in business since 1989 which speaks volumes for its reputation. This was our first since pre covid days but had been there many times over the years. Easy access from Kingston train station - less than 5 minutes walk. We always head for the quieter area at the rear - nice decor too! Reasonable prices - you can have a vegetable dish as main course for £6.20 - Sag Bhaji pictured - main courses such as Moglai Curry for £11.25 - pictured. Service is quick & staff polite.
We'll be back!

Best curry in SW London - Been eating at Monty’s for 30+yrs and the quality is always top notch. Staff are wonderful and service is great. Ignore any review below 4* as these reviewers are muppets and would be more at home in McDonalds

Genuine personal welcome, excellent broad range of authentic Nepalese dishes all served with pickles and assortment of different breads accompanied with regional beers. Clean simple interior style allows for different group sizes, whilst catering for those more intimate evenings, with a glazed garden fountain providing a focal point for parties towards the rear. Excellent service delivered by enthusiastic and welcoming staff.

One of the best curries I’ve ever had - old school. Staff are really welcoming and atmosphere cool and relaxed. Looking forward to our next visit.

Been coming to Monty's for 30 years. The same friendly staff have been there since the beginning and believe it or not the food has stayed as good as well. The butter chicken is the best.

I have my partner to thank for introducing me to Monty's and that was over 30 years ago for what was then our first anniversary
We have been coming back ever since.
By far the best Nepalese restaurant south of the river.
Food is ALWAYS of the highest quality and Standard.
Long may be you here

Best curry south of London - if you can’t go to Nepal, go to Monty’s… it’s brilliant!

Good ebening.
Good scran but a troubling lack of limoncello therefore have to deduct a star. Shame.

This is conveniently located near Kingston station. I went there for some nepalese cuisine, but to my surprise didn’t get much options in the menu. I ordered for North Indian lunch option. The food was good as is the service, can return there but still looking for some authentic nepalese dishes.

We,four had a birthday party to celebrate. We,were greeted at the four by a smilingember of the staff making us feel so special ie better than family !!!.The decor, facilities and food with the exclusive service was totally awesome. We,will surely come back again. We,just could not believe the indivual and extra special service with normal charges that we were happy to pay without question. MONTY'S was examplery, truly. The, staff and the manager were ever so so helpful. The,car parking' slot' was a huge help, too. We, wish other restaurants could follow in their footsteps, too.Every, wish we asked was fulfilled ,fully with a smile.A,very big THANK YOU to the staff and the management for their friendly, clean and ever so lovely experience we enjoyed. We,shall be back soon.

Tried for the first time today on an improptu visit to Kingston.. Really loved the food and the new lunch menu was excellent and very good value. The chicken and lamb were both beautifully tender Friendly and attentive staff. Will definitely go again.

Great staff, superb service and excellent food. The Momocha starters were beautifully spiced. Madras Chicken was full of succulent chicken breast. Chana Masala was great and a good generous portion. The Nepalese dish Pahadi Chicken was a delightfully spicy curry with good spicing of chilli and black pepper and such tender chicken. I will certainly return to this restaurant when next in Kingston.

1st time going there, would certainly go again. The place was spotlessly clean and the staff were very polite and friendly. Not rushed at all even though we was the last ones to leave and the food was great

We've just enjoyed a most amazing al fresco chicken dhansak, mushroom rice, onion bhaji, sag aloo and keema naan.
Monty's remains THE curry house restaurant of choice in Kingston. Not the cheapest, but definitely the best.

I visited Montys with my brother and we both found it a mixed bag. The menu was authentic and varied and the naan and pickles very good. But on the downside, i found my chicken to be under spiced, the portions were quite small and not great value and our rice was pretty well cold. I woukd like to return to try other dishes from the menu but I'd hope these were seasoned better and with more spice ; and that the portions match the competition
Miss Ray
First of all my and my friend were seated opposite a wall and told no1 will see you here? Not a great first impression. There was no hi how are you? Kept asking if we were finished during the meal not once about 6 times. I was hoping the food was going to compensate but it didn't and to top it all off at the end he dissapeared with my card and the card reader for about a minute??? So upset with the service here I will never go back and will spread the word

The Full Monty. Friends of mine have always raved on about this place being a good curry house in the heart of Kingston and last Sunday I thought I would give it a try.

The outside looks modern, but once inside, the decor seemed a little out of date and in need of some attention. Still, was clean and pleasant and larger than expected.

There was a buffet on but we chose to pick from the menu and there was quite a selection to choose from. I had one of the special starters, eastern style dumplings, not something normally seen on the menu, and reminded me more of something found in a Chinese.

For main course I had Chicken Dansak, with a peshwari nann and Pilau rice, all very tasteful and of generous portions. The Peshwari was packed with flavour not being the typical ones you can get elsewhere.

There was a large selection of drinks and a normal wine list all with the expected prices and the service was very prompt and helpful, however, not dressed for table staff at all. Maybe because it was a Sunday.

Overall, the place could do with a little make over but nothing major and the staff could be better presented, asides from that, the food was good, very portioned and reasonably priced. Would certainly come here again, good for all, parties and couples.
