The service, food and atmosphere are all great. I like the tempura soft shell crab burger (they call it bun here) very much. It is just unexpectedly tasty. It is also a great place to chill out with family and friends with the great river view of River Thames.
There is no parking but it is not far away from Seven Kings Car Park which has plenty of parking place with very reasonable fee.

Great positioning on the river with sublime views and gardens. I love any venue that focuses on pets and their well-being.
Our starters were great and the mains were not too bad but the service was a bit sluggish, although friendly enough.
I’d like to go back on a Sunday for a hearty lunch and revisit my review once I’ve done this.

Enjoyed a sublime Sunday Roast dinner at Boaters with a view that’s hard to beat. The meat was cooked to perfection, tender and flavorful, complemented beautifully by a fluffy Yorkshire pudding and a medley of vibrant, fresh vegetables. The accompanying sauce was the cherry on top, adding just the right touch of creaminess. Sipping on a glass of wine while overlooking the serene waters was the perfect way to round off the weekend. Boaters has truly mastered the art of a traditional roast in an idyllic setting. Highly recommended!

Best place for lunch on a sunny day.. much bigger then it looks and a lot of thought has been put into the layout, if you weren't able to get a table with a gorgeous river view the rest look out onto the very pretty park next door. The food was excellent, the roast one of the best we've had!
Staff were super friendly and very accommodating, just such a nice atmosphere

We visited here on the 12 July while on holiday, and enjoyed a beautiful walk through Richmond Park and then along the Thames to Teddington Lock. On route we spotted The Boaters Inn, and really liked the location, and the menu.
My partner had Fish & Chips which she informs me was absolutely delicious, and also nice to see nowadays, home made chips rather than frozen chips. I had the burger & chips and again home made chips. The burger was absolutely delicious and one of the nicest I've ever had.
This was the first time me and my partner had the pleasure to have a river view lunch beside the Thames, and it will certainly be a memory that we both will cherish for the rest of our lives.
Needless to say that when me and my partner are walking along here again, that we will pop into The Boaters Inn for some lunch.
Thank you for a great memorable day for us both.

Dog and vegan friendly. Food selection was good as you have more refined items like roasted celeriac, and pub classics like Sunday roasts and burgers and chips. Spacious with both indoor and outdoor seating. They allow dogs indoors too. Would recommend.

Delicious Sunday roast (best vegan option I've had in a long time), and lovely atmosphere with live music. 100% recommend.

We had delicious lunch burgers and fish and chips both were excellent the setting is really nice next to the Thames definitely worth going to.

Perfect spot by the river on a hot summer day! Great selection on the menu, staff are welcoming especially if you happen to have a four legged friend with you. A real hot spot so book well in advance.

A lovely pub on the Thames in Kingston. Airy and relaxed atmosphere. Prices for both drinks and food are quite steep - a smallish pot of chips is £5 but they were very good.

Amazing , the staff were polite , friendly and ever so helpful. The place is relaxed and has a good vibe.
I highly recommend this place. Dogs are allowed. The food is amazing . We tried the Sunday roast specials

I went there just for the river view from their balcony. And it was less crowded there than those lined up along the Thames in the shopping area of Kingston because it is located in the countryside. The Sunday chicken roast was fantastic with colourful side vegetables like kale, beetroot and carrots, and wholesome grilled potatoes and a Yorkshire pudding. The staff was nice although they were busy on the last day of the school term break.

Great views onto the river; wonderful menu choices; the food we chose was very tasty; the service was good, and friendly. We'll definitely be going back even though we don't live nearby.

Have been coming for Sunday roasts for years and it’s still a favourite! They do the best vegan Sunday roast, which has a delicious vegan wellington, vegan gravy and all the trimmings. Beautiful setting as well and they’ve done up the outside area recently so there’s way more seating

Came here for a Sunday lunch, atmosphere outside by the water on the sunny day is great, family and welcoming. Food was tasty and roast well sized. Took a bit of time to be served as they were busy. Drink options good. Price a little on high side but overall a good experience

A nice enough burger but nothing special. Great location by the river. We say inside late in the evening and appreciated not being in the noise outside. Service was great. One guy stood out. Welcoming, super busy running around looking after people inside and out.

We came here just to sit by the river after a hearty bike ride.
Beautifully located and calm atmosphere. The seats on the terrace are a bit close together and I get the impression the people next to us got frustrated with the lack of space.
I enjoyed my meal but not mind blowing for the price but the views and friendly staff made up for it.
Saying that, the dessert my friend bought looked fantastic - but I didn't try it.

I have visited The Boaters Inn twice for lunch as it is a two minute walk from my house. First time round was last year on a Sunday afternoon, when both me and my husband decided to go for fish and chips and were really disappointed when the food arrived and the fish was seriously undercooked.
Yesterday we decided to give it another try so we ordered the Sunday Roast Rump Beef. I must say I was very disappointed... The price of the dish is £16.00 and it comes with some veggies and a Yorkshire pudding. But the joke here is the size of the portion!! Literally the two slices of meat, which should be the main ingredient of the dish, were the size of two slices of ham bought from the supermarket, not thicker than that! Just ridiculous!
I am only giving it 2 stars for the location and the view but we will not be coming again. There are so many other options by the river with great food and service.

Popped in weekend before last for a pint with the missus and watched the consumption of a beautifully presented roast take place on the table adjacent to me.
With that in mind, "we just had to give it a try"...
Here's what I thought:
Ordered a chiken roast for myself and the missus. Chicken looked more boiled than roasted (judging by the floppy non roasted skin atop) or at leaste boiled first then thrown in the oven for 5 mins to gain some level of roasted authenticity, however cooked it was indeed!
Menu said it comes with stuffing, yet none was to be seen on both our plates! (I didn't complain though as I was aware you were all busy and didn't feel it was fair being our first sitting).
Yorkshire pud was light and fluffy but tasted like it had been deep fried with the fish (tasted a bit like the batter you get on fried fish) though, was a nice texture to the mouth non the less.
Veg was nice, although the carrots where cut thin and a tad on the burnt side which resembled twiglets without the yeast extract.
Could have done with more than 3 small baby potato sized roasties to accompany the plate.
*The pint was my biggest highlight as I'm quite partial to a camden pale ale and that went down a treat!
I used to go to the Ram in kingston by the river for a good roast a couple of years back and couldn't find a chef to match it until they re-vamped the place up and food when down hill.
Nowerdays, I think I will have to stick to the Albert Arms on Kingston Hill for a roast as i find them very hard to beat for some great nosh.
Verdict:
I'd be happy to pop by for a pint or two whilst venturing through Canbury gardens on a Sunday afternoon. But I will hold fire on the food unless feeling rich, hungry and easy to please all at the time.

Great service, found a table outside on the terrace overlooking the river. Ordered a pint of San Miguel and a pint of Orange juice for my wife. After seeing the food coming out of the kitchen for other customers we decided to order the deep fried Somerset brie with chutney. Unbelievably good. I think we found our favourite riverside pub in Kingston. Great food and drink in a beautiful setting. What more can you ask.

Honestly poor food and quite snobbish really
It was rather cold outside so my group wanted to sit viewing the river only to be told it was fully booked even though there was four empty tables, these were the nice prelaid tables that actually had table service, we were directed to the pub tables and had to order at the bar, pretty sad really when you consider its the same menu and the same price
When the food arrived both burger meals were stone cold, absolutely stone cold, my sunday roast was okay at best, the two lots of fish and chips were nice but the chunky chips were pretty much inedible because they used so much salt,
When I mentioned it to the young lady she seemed more annoyed than anything, no smiles, no real apology, just a bit of a grumpy response
I eat out for either lunch or dinner seven or eight times a week, I own a large furniture company in Wimbledon, this was a sunday stroll passed Alforn passed Bills which are both excellent for the same price in Wimbledon and Kingston on to here and really it wasn't close to the quality and experience
All the best James

I came here today for my 30th birthday on a Sunday at lunch time. The atmosphere was great and the waiter was so good. He was really attentive. However, the food was so poor it was nearly inedible. We all ordered the roast, the vegetables were undercooked and we couldn't eat them. It is expensive for what it is and I was very disappointed. I would recommend for a drink but not for food.

Cool atmosphere in the outside area with a nice view. The drinks were good, but we ordered some food and were quite disappointed. The portions were small, tasteless and the sides were salty and tasted like they came out of a packet. Good place to grab a drink, but would recommend to stay away from the food!

After hearing negative review about the boaters in I dragged three of my friends here as it reminded me of a Canadian pub I use to go to growing up and I really wanted it to be good but was disappointed and simply spoons had a higher quality of food.
Veggie Burger- really disappointed with quality of the food. Really doesn't justify the price at all. I've worked in a kitchen and I would not be happy sending this out. I really think a revamp and an updated menu is needed.
Lobster and crayfish roll - the taste of the fish was brand and didn't come through at all might have been because of the mass amounts of sauce on the roll
Chips, fries - over cooked and over seasoned
If you just want a drink or somewhere to take a date okay, and it's a lovely location it is just a sham about the food

This place is awesome and the staff are always super friendly. Great place on a cold winters day.

I have just moved to the area and this place was recommended by a friend and local of 20 years. I will go out on a limb and say the fish and chips was the best I ever had in a pub/restaurant. Great location right by the River Thames. Highly recommended.

One of the best restaurants I've been to in Kingston. The ambiance was great with a fantastic view of the Thames. Food was sumptuous and the service is spot on. Highly recommended when you're in Kingston.

Lots of seafood make the menu, which is ace. In the summer lots of BBQs appear which is a most welcome change too! Cute little establishment :)
Edward Kyme
Great food. Seem to have a lot of seafood on but menu was very different the next time. BBQ in summer lovely by the river.
