Was sceptical. As I am a food and coffee snob. 9 times outta 10; restaurants & cafes mess poached eggs up. Not the case here.
Fantastic breakfast, only critique is ‘bean gate’… The chef has put his own twist/recipe cooking the baked beans. I do the same, but with malt vinegar, real butter, seasoning & HP sauce.
Beans here taste of BBQ sauce. BBQ flavour & British breakfast doesn’t work for me. Though this is merely my preference, therefore, the review should not lose a star for this. Perhaps a choice of ‘chef’ beans & standard. Cracking coffee. Top notch staff/service.

We recently had my sister's baby shower here and Andrea went above and beyond, the food, service, everything was amazing! The food was unreal and more than enough for us. Highly recommend if you are after somewhere for an event, this place make it really special 💝

First visit.
The veggie breakfast was a cornucopia of colour & taste.
There are other non veggie options but if your a transitioning veggie I highly recommend it.
Can’t wait for next visit (Next time we will book first)

If I'm honest, I was reluctant to visit the Backyard since it had been taken over because I loved it so much before and didn't think anyone could ever live up to the McYard 😋 Well, I was wrong and I'm kicking myself for not going back sooner. The new owner is so lovely, really warm and welcoming, and thinks of everything before you've had the chance to even ask for it. Even run off her feet, with staff shortages in a heatwave she didn't miss a thing and she's brought a lovely atmosphere to the place. The food was gorgeous, probably the best eggs benedict I've ever had and the coffee was delicious.
We'll see you soon to sample more of the menu and if we've got room, some cakes. Thank you :)

I went here with my young daughter (4 years old) and we both absolutely loved everything about it. The food is tasty, healthy and wonderfully presented. The service was fast, friendly and went above and beyond. And there was a great atmosphere and really cool decor. You really must try this place.

One of the rare times that just seeing the food I knew it would be tasty, which made me forget to take a picture. Finally, a menu that is not necessarily unique but the effort put and the ingredients make it feel special to visit. Nice and sturdy chairs and tables to sit. The decor reminds me of very nice coffee shops in Greece. The only negative is that the ventilation could be better, and as a guest, it is not the worst, but I feel for the staff. Will try to visit again soon and upload pics.

Came for breakfast with my partner and we both had a breakfast each. I have to say it was probably the best breakfast ive ever had, in the best atmosphere I’ve ever experienced. From start to end the friendly staff were amazing at making us feel extremely welcome. The stunning interior of the place really complimented the perfectly cooked food and fresh orange juice. The hash brows were the star of the show as they were absolutely delicious and well cooked. The Backyard cafe is an absolute must visit and deserves a full 5 stars in every department. I will definitely be returning.

First time back since being taken over by new people. Breakfast was delicious but service was slow, and only one member of staff seemed friendly. I’m assuming she was the owner. Very nice lady. Appreciate they were short staffed so maybe just a one off. Staff could do with more knowledge on what is suitable for vegetarians on the menu, especially the cakes. As they just spoke about allergens when we enquired. Being vegetarian is nothing to do with being allergic to ingredients! The atmosphere isn’t as vibrant as it was before and the cake selection is poor now.

I had a toastie and fresh healthy juice which was amazing. I also tried some of the brownies to take home for the family, they were also delicious and very reasonably priced.

Lovely little cafe, reminds me a lot of Melbourne in the style!
The coffee and food was great and well presented. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome even though I come with all the luggage of a baby and a dog!
It’s amazing that it is dog friendly as it makes it more accessible for me with my separation- anxious sausage dog! Everyone was treated very well.
I can’t wait to visit again soon, thank you for a great experience!
