We called in looking for food on our journey from Dufton to Edale. The place was busy but the lovely young lady behind the bar found us a table was was very courteous and helpful. An equally lovely young lady served our food which was 5*. Thanks them both, and all the kitchen staff, we had an excellent meal and went on our way. Highly recommended.

Lovely waitress kept checking everything was ok cleared table as soon as we needed it to be cleared. The deserts that followed were absolutely fab. Friendly staff and locals made us feel very welcome, including the dog. Had planned a quick drink in the warm, ended up with a full roast dinner in front of a lovely coal fire!

Just got back from a 2 night stay while attending a family wedding nearby. The pub has recently been taken over by a lovely couple who couldn't do enough to help us. The rooms are dated but were very clean and comfortable., everything we needed. Great breakfast both mornings and a bar snack on the night of arrival.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Good place for a drink. Locals use it a lot. Rooms could do with a refurbishment. Surprisingly a big bathroom with my single en suite room. Dinner was OK but definitely not homemade. Breakfast was good, just need the guy serving it to cheer up. Wouldn't stay there in the winter. Provided a small heater which would not warm up the room, luckily during my stay the weather was very hot.

Orderee the Bistro rump steak and stilton sauce. Cooked M R and was just how I like it, more rare than most places. Sauce was little too thin, onion rings were nice. Salman fish cake were good too.

Decent village pub. Booked fairly last minute for dinner but the online booking worked well. Good pub menu. Our group had a combination of steak pie and gammon mains. Both were very good. Had a nice feel to it with a roaring coal fire. Plenty of free parking outside. Lady behind the bar was friendly and welcoming.

Nice pub, lots of country character but on the high street. We chose it due to proximity and more importantly, it was pet friendly. Nice traditional decor and the staff were friendly enough. The food was a little over priced for the quality but it was overall a nice evening.

Unassuming pub, but highly recommended by local farmer we met on a walk. Standard pub fare, but all four of us chose different meals, and all four of us highly rated their dishes. Delicious. And the cookie dough pudding to finish was to die for. Definitely worth stopping by!

Food choice was good and she made changes with no bother. The food was ok, not gourmet but good for the price. They were friendly and let us charge our bike batteries for free. Atmosphere was a bit lacking but not awful.
