Popped in for a takeaway coffee and cake this morning. Best coffee in KBT by a country mile! Such a warm welcome by friendly and accommodating staff. Love the quirky, modern vibe of the place, can't wait to sit in and enjoy the menu. Exactly what the town needs, best of luck to you all, don't think you are going to need it!

Called in after been at the Kirkcudbright Food Festival, I was wanting something healthy and filling to keep me going until I got home. The young lady that was serving couldn’t have been more helpful (Sorry I’m rubbish with name)! I had a coffee and the soup of the day which was homemade Mushroom & celeriac along with homemade Bread they were both so packed with flavour and filling to boot. This is a wee place that is a must stop off place if your ever in the area!! I hear there cakes a to die for but I didn’t indulge this time but maybe next time I’m in.

Gem of a cafe. Lovely and cosy very friendly helpful staff. Nice food and good selection particularly the home baked cakes to go with a coffee. Placed lived up to its reputation as being dog friendly. Bowls of water provided along with homemade dog biscuits handed out to our pup free. One happy pup two happy owners. Have no hesitation in recommending this place.

A refreshingly different café in the old Kirkcudbright railway station. The owner, Nick, is passionate about his new 'baby' and committed to providing us with delicious, locally-sourced (genuinely) food in an original, quirky interior, made and served by delightful staff. Impressed

Had the great pleasure of attending the fresh pasta cookery course and I am so glad I did!! It was a fantastic day from start to finish. From our light breakfast and fantastic coffee to our lunch that was the product of our mornings hard work!! Nick was fantastic and his passion for food really shines through in his teaching, I can't wait to get cooking at home now!! Cannot recommend the cookery school highly enough!!

I’m a keen cook and really enjoyed my day at the cook school. Nick is a great teacher, informative & entertaining. What an amount of food I came away with! I forgot my aubergine but improvised & turned my flat bread dough into a pizza.

The day-long bread course was tremendous, packed with information and tips and culminated in leaving with a couple of my own handmade loaves. Highly enjoyable and recommended.

Amazing place.! I brought my very large dog around the time they were closing on a Saturday. The food was so very good: sweet potato pie with salad and potatoes and a decadent hot chocolate. Food was big enough for dinner although a lunch portion. Staff were really friendly and gave my dog a homemade dog biscuit. Decor was great, everything was clean. Would highly recommend!

Enjoyed a half day pasta making class with my 9 year old son. A great experience. We both learned lots and my son thoroughly enjoyed it. He was so delighted to bring home his dishes and let everyone taste the food he had produced. I would recommend the "Kids study for free" family class as a great day's entertainment during school half terms or holidays. We are already on the look out for our next culinary class to share together at Station House.

This is our second visit to The Station House Cook School, and we were not disappointed. Nick was, as ever a most hospitable and knowledgeable host, and we thoroughly enjoyed the Middle Eastern cooking experience. For those who can’t cook, won’t cook or those with a passion to cook, and a keenness to learn more about the science and processes of cooking, then this is the place to come to. A great day, and would recommend to all, those who can cook, and those who can’t. It is something for everyone. Many thanks, Nick, and hope to see you again…..

We use the cookery school to provide our young trainee kitchen assistant with external cookery training. Our employee really enjoys attending his courses and it builds his confidence with his cooking skills and knowledge. Nick offers advice on how he can improve his cooking methods and this week he returned with knowledge on how to improve our pizza dough. We have tested out Nicks method and it has helped us develop a firmer crisper pizza base so our customers can now enjoy even better pizza's at Nikos in Castle Douglas. Thank you Nick for all the support you provide our young employee, you are offering him much encouragement to want to become a chef in the future and he always returns motivated and keen to improve the foods we offer.
