Great choice of real ales and the wife likes it because the wine is ok too. Lacks atmosphere when empty as it's a bit clinical. However fills up later on Dog friendly and one of our favourite haunts
The Mitre is a quirky pub situated opposite the railway station. I wouldn't recommend driving there as parking nearby is a total faff. The beers are top notch and the building is charming as it strides the hilly terrain. Food is available but I can't comment about rooms as my visit there was very brief.
Didn't stay in hotel.
A group of friends, we pick a town and check out the pubs, starting with a bite to eat, so the Mitre had the privilege of first blood for us.
Lovely building, close to the station, with good food at a fairly reasonable price.
Staff were super friendly. Enjoyed it so much we came in for a second before we got our trains home.
I stayed here when I competed at the Northern Shooting Show this month (May 23). When I arrived I was very tiered. John looked after me and went above and beyond in making my stay comfortable and trouble free. The room was spotless with coffee/tea in the room. The food was homely and filling. The only downside was the parking. Unfortunately, the Mitre Inn has no parking on site and this is due to the layout of the town. However, they do rent parking spaces in a near by secure car park. Its a short walk. So park up outside, drop your belongings off and drive to the secure parking. The Mitre Inn is a lovely place to stay and one I would recommend. Thank you for making me feel so welcome.
Lovely modern bar in an older building, right next to Knaresborough Station. Friendly, polite service and good selection of drinks. Clean and smart surroundings. A nice little seating area outside. Dog friendly.
Loads of beers on offer, nice food and friendly service. Good location, if you have time for a pint before catching a train etc
A lovely pub with great beer next to the train station or half way uo the hill. Had a really nice burger in the Sunday and a nice pint of ale. Would definitely recommend to anyone after great service great food and great beer.
Recently went here on a family day trip to Knaresborough and I was very pleased with the food and service. The Sunday dinner was very nice with lots of choices for meat and veg. The same can definitely be said for the kids pasta which came with a beautiful garlic bread!
The staff are an absolute credit to this lovely little hotel. Friendly, happy and helpful they really seem to enjoy working there. Special mention to the brilliant lady serving breakfast... she is a star. The room was spacious, clean and bed so comfy I slept really well. Bathroom large, warm, clean and had a full length bath to lounge in. We ate in the bar and the food was great. Location spot on, right next to train station and only minutes from town square. Would highly recommend staying here.
The barman was a great guy. Very welcoming. Had a some lunch whilst we were there which was good quality food. Very reasonably priced. Really nice pub and definitely worth a visit. Great selection of beers and ales...even weissbier! 👏😍
Great pub and Lovely food. The staff are very accommodating and there is loads of space for prams and to accommodate a larger party
