We were visiting Knaresborough from York and discovered the Spice Village Restaurant. On arriving, the aroma from the kitchen was exquisite. We were shown to our table, given menus and offered drinks. The dishes we ordered were both exquisite and delicious. The accompanying rice and nan bread was delectable. Friendly service. Recommended.
The restaurant decor could do with a touch up but the food quality and the enthusiasm and friendliness of the staff more than make up for this. You always feel welcome and part of the family.
The food itself is amazing, the portion sizes are perfect - I often find you get given too much but they give you enough to fill you without being too full.
Best bhaji's in Yorkshire - don't let the decor fool you, this is the ultimate curry house, nestled here in the heart of Yorkshire. Amazing food, epic service - just needs a loving decor update - can't recommend enough!
The best dining experience I’ve had in some time. Lawrence personally introduced himself and explained the Sunday evening offer. He said our 6 year old would eat for free and the rest of us got popadoms, pickle tray, starter, main course, rice or naan and a glass of wine/ 1/2 pint of lager or soft drink for £12.95 including all king prawn and salmon dishes. I thought they may skimp on portions for that amazing prize but they didn’t at all. The food was delicious and the service very attentive. My son, daughter and sister got offered to see the kitchen and they said it was amazing (both my daughter and sister work in the food and beverage industry so know what they’re talking about!). We had in addition to the offer 3 desserts, 2 alcoholic drinks and 3 soft drinks and the whole bill was £83. Amazing value, amazing food and AMAZING service. I never leave reviews (good or bad) but had to leave a review this time. We will be back!
This restaurant might not be the most modern in decoration but it more than makes up for it with the food it serves. We always get great service with a smile when we visit here. The Thursday night offer for £10.95 is really good value as you get any starter, main and rice or nan bread plus a side or a glass of wine. We always go away from here with full bellies and a satisfying feeling.
Fantastic food, starters good but main (sag tikka paneer) absolutely excellent. Staff were really lovely and friendly, attentive and welcoming, felt really comfortable and at home. Highly recommend; it's a real shame to see a place that has such great food and such lovely staff quiet so I hope their business picks up soon.
Had a great meal here for Father's Day ! Staff were very good and attentive. Chef even came out to check everything was up to expectations !
Food delicious served in a nice environment. Highly recommended !!!
I've never had a bad meal in all the years we've been going there. The mint lamb bhuna is an absolute winner! The staff are knowledgeable and courteous, service is good and the food is always top standard. Children are well looked after if they want the spiciness knocking down a bit. Recommended!
