This hotel is a gem of a find. The rooms are immaculately clean and decorated to a high standard. The staff were all really helpful and friendly. Ate in the bar area and the food was great. Lovely place to visit would definitely recommend staying here. Went for business but could easily be a romantic place to stay and see surrounding areas
We stumbled in on the offchance for Sunday lunch after viewing a camper van locally. Initially I wasn’t impressed, two unoccupied barmen ignored us completely, but were polite when I pointed it out. The food was great and the waitresses were much more on it, so we got great service from them. The slow roast beef was amazing, so was the sticky toffee pudding. We’d come back but live in Leeds…
We went to our grandsons wedding on 28/10/2023 from the moment we arrived to the momment we left we could not have asked for better treatment. The staff fell over backwards to help us, the accommodation was first class, the food was superb.
Thank you all at the Greswolde Arms for making the day perfect.
It is not often that I find a time that places deserve 5 stars across the board, however this place is the exception. I have had nothing but a flawless experience with service here; both hospitality and dining. The location is premium for exploring the small area of Knowle, and I expect to return again to this same organization in the future. The only downside was that there is not a single gym facility or laundromat in the whole town, but I cannot mark off points for such. The accommodations and ability to go out of their way here will forever be remembered. They have gained a loyal customer.
Booked for a lunch with my mother as the weather was nice. Went at the right time not busy, it got very busy whilst we were getting ready to leave. Really nice atmosphere. The food was really nice. We had the Korean chicken and barbecue chicken with cheese and bacon. Both dishes cooked really well. The service was very good, staff pleasant and friendly. The other customers really friendly too, helping my elderly mother. Thank you.
The hotel is situation on a small highstreet with Tesco, Toby Carvery and a few other bars nearby. Parking is obvious but be aware that you must add your registration inside at the HOTEL COUNTER and not the first counter you find. I found the staff attentive at check in but note that you must walk past the first reception area (this is for pub/restaurant) and then you can see the hotel reception counter on the left. The pub itself was busy and shows how popular a place it is. There are plenty of rooms and they are all decorated in a pleasant way. I was in room 8. The furniture seemed good quality and the room was clean. Mine had a good size TV and an iron in the room. The tea-making facilities were good for a night's stay and had plenty of milk packets for a change. Also had plenty of plug sockets with USB ports around the room (most importantly, next to the bed). The room had no view (onto a roof and film applied to prevent seeing those without opening the window). There was a constant hum from some equipment which I didn't mind as I like to have ambient noise while I sleep. It wasn't too loud. The only real issue I had with my stay was a loud bang caused by some heavy doors which was a frequent occurrence throughout the evening until around 11ish when it didn't happen long enough for me to fall to sleep. All the doors up to the room are soft close except the door to the room. Perhaps it is those. Not sure if it was the doors to the pub or some internal doors somewhere. If you want an early night here, it probably isn't the place to stay.
Breakfast: Service was good. Food was to a high quality and cooked exactly as requested. Really enjoyed it. The toaster was not plugged in and wasn't the clearest to operate however. The continental had a reasonable selection but it was a shame a spread was on offer and not a butter alternative (though I didn't ask for butter either and I would bet there would be some available on request).
Had a really warm welcome from Hayden very pleasant helpful and sorted our lovely room and a table for dinner bar staff waitresses and everyone we met were so helpful and friendly . The food was amazing good value and the breakfast was beautiful, we will be returning soon
Set in the high street of the lovely village knowle this pub is spacious, has well looked after facilities and the food is great. Good value as well all. We go here fairly often whenever we visit friends in knowle 👍
Attended a family celebration this weekend. The room was spotless and i struggled to crawl out of the bed this morning it was so comfortable. We had lunch in the restaurant yesterday. The food was lovely, well presented and great value for money. Would strongly recommend this hotel restaurant and staff.
I held the Wake for my late husband’s funeral here.
It had been our favourite “ date night” location for years
I cannot thank Hayden and Nicky enough for the superb service over and above and the kindness shown to me and my family and friends who attended
The room was set out exactly as I wanted it , easy to use projector for a slideshow
The food was excellent ( especially the pork pie….delicious ) and everyone commented on how lovely it all was
Many thanks to chef and team too
