Awesome Fish 'n' Chips

Dishonest owner! I went in there without seeing the special menu and ordered straight from board of a fish chips and salad meal for 25.80 and asked how many pieces in the meal, answered 4! While I was waiting for my order I saw the special menu for 5 pieces and chips for 8.50, I went in and asked about the difference. Hesitantly the male owner said specials were tail flesh and then corrected himself saying special was imported fish and 25.80 was local fish. Guess what? It’s 5 tiny pieces just like the specials! No business will succeed with dishonesty!

This place was not as awesome as the name implies! The fish (flathead tails and flake) were very fresh and beautifully cooked; however, the chips and potato cakes were just awful. The chips were cold and tasted as if they were leftovers from the previous day and the potato cakes were hard and tasteless.

Small serves, overpriced and unhelpful service. Unfortunately other fish and chips were shut so we had no choice but "Awesome Fish 'n' Chips". I understand they were busy (but it wasn't the weekend) but the man serving us was not helpful. We spent $40 for 12 pieces of fish and chips that was not enough to feed 4 children. The flat-head fish was good but small and perhaps they had started to run out of chips as we got barely any. Very poor value. A visit to a different place in Paynesville (with a similar spend) fully fed 4 adults and 4 children with fish and chips.
