Maize Mexican Cantina

This was our third time here for lunch. I always get the chicken chili and it's enough for me! A five dollar lunch isnt bad at all. This is the second time we came for Rachels next door and ended up at Maise instead. The place is practically a ghost town. Sure, there is room for improvement but I would go back again. Today my husband's chimichanga was fried to crisp perfection and we liked the red sauce on the enchilada.

Overall good place - good food, service, and atmosphere, and reasonable prices. Loved the salsa and chips, and some of the margaritas and good and strong. The main reason why it's not a 5 star is because it's not too authentic Mexican. When they asked me if I wanted hard or soft shells for my tacos, I knew it wasn't authentic, because you don't have that option in actual Mexican restaurants! I got the soft shells, and I'm pretty sure they were not homemade. But it is a good place overall and I would go back!

This place is amazing. Very inviting atmosphere, great for drinks/family. Food here has been excellent every time we’ve been here. Stuffed jalapeños were very spicy (be warned), I thoroughly enjoyed them. Service is very excellent, we had at least 3 individuals ask if everything was ok or if we needed anything. We’ll be back!

My wife and I arrived early evening this past Saturday. The service was great and the food excellent. I had Steak and Chicken Fajita and the steak they use was very tender and done just my liking. This is not always the case at other Mexican type restaurants. We had the tortilla soup and the crab and corn soup and both were outstanding. We had chips and guacamole and it was bright and freshly made. My wife had the Seafood Tacos and loved them. All in all a great experience. Plus the place looks great. The only thing I would do is add more peppers and onions to the fajitas plate (which came out sizzling) and be sure each fish taco gets the same amount of fish. Our server was appropriately attentive, Great Job!!!
