El Maizal Art Restaurant

This is exactly the restaurant I've been waiting for! This Colombian Restaurant opened not too long ago in Downtown Lancaster. The food and service are exceptional. You're greeted with smiles and promptly directed to your table. On the way to your seat, you'll notice beautiful paintings on the walls. The owner and cook is also an incredible artist! The atmosphere does not get any more authentic than this! Beautiful tapestries hang on the walls, and entire restaurant is accented with Colombian clay roofing tiles. It makes you feel like you're in the middle of a Caribbean town square. The restaurant itself is a bit small, but this only makes the atmosphere even cozier. Chatting with your fellow patrons is very common, so don't be afraid if someone at another table says, "Hola!" The food is delicious and the portions are a very healthy size! I had the Chuleta de Cerdo with an Empanada and a side of Frijoles. I will be exploring the rest of the menu, but I have a feeling the rest of the menu will be equally incredible. Unfortunately, the menu and restaurant hours are a bit on the short side, but the owner assured me that he'll offer more food and longer hours as his business grows. Currently, the restaurant is open from 11am to 7pm from Tuesday to Saturday, and closes at 6pm on Sundays. Finally, the closest other Colombian restaurant is in Philadelphia, so take advantage of this place!
