China Buffet

I don't leave reviews often. I am a chef and have a very diversified pallet and I'm hard to impress. My expections are usually best to low for a buffet experience. The property and decor were unimpressive. But the quality and flavors of the foods on the buffet more than made up for what lacked in ambiance. The egg rolls were spot on. The coconut ahrimpt was perfectly fried and crispy, coated with a light cream coconut sauce that did not overwhelm the shrimp at all. Their dumplings were the best I've had in a long time, delicate and light, fresh and very satisfying. Also, their version of peel and eat shrimp, tail on lightly coated with seasoning and maybe a flour, but delicious. Everything was hot, we'll seasoned and excellent texture, especially for buffet experience.

No. Just no. I think the staff is super sweet. They were so attentive (only reason I gave more than one star) but the reason you go...the food, was not okay. Went at noon and the stuffed mushrooms were rubbery like they were reheated. On the upside the crab rangoons were great and what I made my meal on.

If you're hungry and looking for quantity, this is the place. The green beans were still nice and al dente, the coconut shrimp, egg rolls and soups were pretty good. Many of the other offerings didn't have the uniqueness to go with the name. For example the orange chicken and the General Tso's tasted the same. My biggest concern was that, most of the food was not hot enough, I know that it means more frequent change or refills, but the risk of food poisoning is greater at lower temperatures. The service was fine. Would I need to go back? May give it another try.
