Review The Low House, Laxfield (the King's Head Pub) - Laxfield

Great little pub. Tucked away behind the church. Food is great, recommend booked especially on busier days like the weekends. No actual bar in this pub, just a tap room in the back. A nifty experience if you haven’t seen one before. Spacious beer garden out back with plenty of seating. Footpaths throughout the village and surrounding fields pass by here and make it a great starting and ending point.

Lovely old Tudor pub. All settles and beams inside. Good food and rooms. Served by the owners so great attention to detail. Beer served from barrels in a tap room. Very quaint and quiet village setting.

What a lovely gem! Super beer and although we went for highly recommended pizza which was not being served that particular night, the restaurant food was faultless. Can not wait to return.....

4 of us ate here for lunch on Saturday. The menu was varied and excellent with meat, fish and veggie options. All 4 of us agreed that the food was superb and the service was really friendly and welcoming. Oh, and the local beer was excellent, too! We will be going back again, and would definitely recommend ! There aren't many tables so I would suggest booking is a must.

Booked for Sunday lunch. Both our roasts were really nice, one beef and one turkey lots of vegetables, and fabulous roast potatoes, nice cheese cake for dessert. Thanks for a lovely visit. No bar but a pump room very quaint. Well worth a visit.

Lovely old pub with friendly staff. As sun was shining we made use of the taxes outside, in the garden. Have been back since, and sat inside. It's like going back in time, beautiful. One of a few old pubs without a bar, tap room pub. Also serves food. Well worth a visit.

Lovely pub. We arrived at 12pm on Sunday without booking and they managed to squeeze us in. I would definitely book in future as it filled up quickly. Lovely food and service. Will be back!

We dropped in on the off chance of getting a table and the staff were super helpful and managed to squeeze us in. Lovely old pub, lots of character, proper beer from the tap room and good food.

So good to see that awful duck egg blue paint job done by the last owners has been removed. Architectural vandalism, no other word for it. Well done the new owners!! An historic pub saved and preserved.

We didn't stay, but had Sunday lunch. What a tremendous Inn. A beautiful thatched building with nooks and crannies for cozy conversation, augmented with a covered seating area and a beautiful beer garden. Extremely welcoming staff with traditional food of equalling quality. Dogs are welcome too. Our food was very good with superb puddings to finish with. I had four different halves of quality real ale. Definitely one to return to

Wonderful traditional pub bursting with character. Excellent meal, great menu. Best pub restaurant I've visited in a very long time (years!). Good service too. Thank you 😊

We made a last-minute reservation today and were lucky to get a booking. With nine of us in total, plus three dogs, we had a great square table so conversation could flow. Fantastic service from two lovely ladies plus scrumptious meals all round. The quality and taste were delicious. It is a real gem and would throughly recommend. It was a lovely last evening on our holiday here in beautiful Suffolk. Thank you 😊

Visited for dinner on Sat 29 July. What a great garden! So spacious with pizza chefs on hand. We stayed for dinner which we ate inside the pub in one of the cosy rooms. Food was good at a reasonable price. A great pub with no bar but a tap room, a lovely garden for summer evenings and I bet its cosy/warm in winter. Thanks for a nice night.

Wonderful ancient building that provides an excellent restaurant and tap room. Food was fantastic, staff friendly and helpful.

A beautiful old, thatched pub with so much authentic charm and character. Great for just a drink by the fire in the Settle or a 3 course meal. Lovely garden with pizzas in the Summer too. Always a good selection of well kept ales in the tap room and the food is excellent. Staff are very helpful and accommodating and everything is very good value for money. Some good dog walks around Laxfield too. One of our favourite Suffolk pubs 🍻

A fabulous pub im a great village with so much to offer. Lovely garden when the weather is good. Always a great welcome from Gareth and Marie. Fabulous food and great ambiance. Pork belly was delicious and the chocolate tart to die for. Make a reservation or you might be disappointed.

A beautiful old pub. As soon as you go through the front door it's like stepping back in time. This is no themed pub. There are small passages leading to high settled areas and cozy fires. No bar but instead a traditional tap room serving a range of local cask ales. The fairly new owners Gareth and Marie are delightful and welcoming. My room for the night was warm with a huge very comfortable bed. There was a separate area with kettle and selection of complimentary tea/coffee and hot chocolate. The bathroom was large with shower over bath. Pub was full but a table had been reserved. Lovely food and a pint from the taproom. Breakfast is served from 08:30 which was a little late for me but I had tea and toast. I hope that I will be able to stay again on my next business trip. Would highly recommend this lovely pub.

What a lovely place. Staff, food, beer, price, ambience all great. Worth a trip as they say!

What a great pub! Spent a lovely night with old friends, sampling the beers and delicious food. Staff are friendly and helpful. This pub is unusual in that it doesn’t have an actual bar, but there are lots of chatty locals who’d be propping it up if there were one! Landlord Al couldn’t be more ‘cheery landlord-ish’ if he tried! Great place - go there!
