Night out in Leeds
Wanted to go to the Town Hall Tavern for a long time, came on a Friday night after dropping the in-laws of for concert at the Town Hall.
The place was very busy. However we found a table, only strange thing no menus on the table, no problem got one from the bar when ordering first round of drinks.
I had the pie with piped mash on top, and the wife had a burger, both were very good,
I would go back
Lovely little pub. Only found it after searching Google for pub food and saw it's only a two minute walk from The Light, where we were heading for the cinema later.
Had the full range of Timothy Taylor's cask ales on, so had three while I was there. Also had the Sunday Roast lunch (which is all they offer on Sundays), which was very nice.
Nice friendly staff who are knowledgeable about the beers. Will have to try and pop in on another day of the week as I quite fancied the Steak and Ale Pie.
First time at this pub, came here for the food which looks amazing but the kitchen closed at 3 so can’t sample it. Google maps says they serve food now until 7pm so that’s wrong.
Will have to come back.
No proper cider, thought it may do as it does real ales
Absolute gem of a place! Joe was the host with the most. Did you know they have a loyalty card as well? Love this little find at the bottom of town. My new go to place X
This is a good place to get a traditional Sunday roast. Paulicarus has been before. A traditional pub in the Timothy Taylor's estate oddly located near the Town Hall. A full range of Taylor's beers on the impressive bank of handpumps. Paulicarus chose the Boltmaker bitter three times. Very good. We all ordered the roast beef at £13.95. Chicken and gammon were also available plus a veggie option. Asked the bar staff for recommendations for the next pub..and it was a great choice..The Templar hotel.
Nice pint of landlord. Good new menu and some lovely simple food cooked well and tasty. Good spot for lunch.
How can you knock the Town Hall Tavern?
Since this pub has been taken over by Welcome Inns, it's had such a turn around!
The manager Joe has been such a great edition to this pub and the staff are so pleasant!
Outstanding food throughout the weekdays and weekend!
My thanks goes to David, who helped me out on a personal matter today! In my 23 years of living in Leeds and having walked past the tavern countless times, I have never been in! This has been a mistake on my part, as it really is a lovely place to grab a drink. Thanks again David, you were great!
Went in specifically for the Ram Tam but unfortunately that was the one TT brew that wasn't on.
However the Dark Mild (second choice) was very good.
Lovely pub, staff couldn’t do enough,
Great value for money veggie burger was amazing, gammon (I’m told by my family)was great .
Will definitely be back x
Several visits to this establishment for Sunday dinner and so we went again, me and my partner opt-in for the beef dinner my daughter the burger and grandchild sausage and chips, you can't fault the food or service which is of a high standard my only negative is the price for the dinner at near on 14 pound makes it the most expensive we have paid for and we go everywhere for our Sunday dinner, and only one slice of beef fair enough it was a decent slice but left feeling a bit short changed by it. Still a great dinner though.
