A good pub/bar with a chilled atmosphere but can get busy. Serves all the favourites drinks wise, including a decent selection of gins and rums. I've not eaten there but they do a few stews - standard and variations - and fresh oysters.

First of all kudos to the young man behind the bar, due to another staff member not turning up he was on his own. He seated us upstairs at our request and provided table service to our group of 6. The service was excellent for a lone worker not only did he serve the drinks, take the food order he also cooked it. The food was tasty though the portions seemed a little small. The cornbread was excellent. All in all it was a pleasent experience and the management should take note of the service provided by this employee

I arrived with my friend and her child. Great place! Unfortunately my friend’s child became sick, we needed to leave. The staff were amazing. I offered to clean the area. In a time when everyone is worried about everything, and they wouldn’t let me. Also, the mother, my friend, was so apologetic and they made us feel so at ease. Times are tough, but well done for handling it with respect, positivity and general kindness. Always a good place and always worth a visit :)

Always got great cask beer (at a price). Friendly service. Not eaten there for a while, so a bit disappointed by the misery stew portions and having to buy bread separately.

This is a very nice place to go based mainly on the quality of the bar stuff who inject atmosphere and a welcoming friendliness to a place which can be a bit spartan on occasion. The stews I have tasted have been delicious but I would rather pay a little more for a larger portion as I'm left asking myself what's coming for my main. The stew is served with a giant piece of bread which is nice but, I think, out of all proportion to the stew. Once I got to the sticky toffee pudding, however, all quibbles were brushed aside as I entered taste heaven. Don't forget that they serve a fantastic range of guest beers, all served by the lovely staff making this a place which deserves regular visits.

Had the pleasure of eating lunch here on Monday, food was fantastic, our dogs were made very welcome on what was a very wet day, Staff very friendly, you must try the cornbread. Vegan menu as well.

Nice and bright inside, with dogs welcome, a big bar and plenty of places to sit. The menu is good with about 10 different stews on offer. Some sandwiches, sharing plates and puddings. The stew was tasty and comes with a decent slab of bread and butter. Think home cooking at very reasonable prices. Dogs are welcome and there are a lot of vegetarian and vegan options
