We had a lovely family meal at the newly refurbished Woodcock yesterday. We were met by Carla, who was so welcoming and friendly despite it being extremely busy and she was looking after a lot of tables. She made sure my young children had some colouring to do and really took the time to make sure everything was great with our meal. I tried the gyros from the new menu which was absolutely delicious and the kids ate all their meals and loved the ‘make your own sundae’ for dessert.

I had fish and chips, it was spot on,my partner had the mushroom pie, I had to stab it a few times to break the lid,even got more gravy,but it still didn't get any softer,eventually I said just leave it or you will break your teeth.
The staff were excellent and very attentive,the drinks were spot on and the pub and toilets were 100% clean,apart from the pie being over cooked on the lid,it was very enjoyable.

I am vegetarian and I can not recommend this place enough! They accommodated to the fact I don’t eat meat so well and had plenty of options. The food came fast and was cooked to perfection. The staff were lovely, I would recommend to everyone.

We are regulars here and always get a friendly welcome and good service. All the staff are lovely especially Lindsey, Kate and Kelly . Cheap and cheerful meal out anytime.

Was in last Monday as I was picking up my new car from down the road at Eagle car centre Ian recommended this pub I'm glad he did I had A great lunch i had the fish and a lovely big side salad not that bog on chips so they accomadated me with a big salad.
Fish was lovely hot and crispy salad was lovely and fresh.
All the staff were lovely and friendly they were kept busy.
If I'm ever down this way again I'll definitely be popping in again

It's a nice little pub and the staff are nice, I'm only putting one less star because the food wasn't too great. The atmosphere and the drinks were nice though. I'm not sure if i will return if I do it won't be for the food unfortunately.
