No longer a Nicholson's pub which was dissapoining but not bad all the same. A bit noisy with unnecessary music with a deep base forcing people to have to raise their voice adding to the general cacophony. Staff very pleasant and plenty of them so getting served at a busy bar wad very easy.
This is a old Victorian pub with a great atmosphere. The food is excellent 5 star ratings for food. Drinks are reasonably priced with a good choice of drinks available and it's great to look at a old fashioned building with lots of history
Brilliant afternoon tea to celebrate my 50th birthday. Lovely clean hotel with nice attention to detail. The food was delicious with plenty to choose from. The. experience was made really special by the amazing service provided by Joshua.
Great place to have a pint. We had a laugh and it had a great atmosphere. It's amazing inside it was like going back in time. Nice staff friendly and approachable.
Beautiful interior, I can't believe I've never been in . It was a lunchtime drink we were served by a polite and amusing girl. Never been on an evening, but I will certainly give it a try.
Beautiful pub, great atmosphere and brilliant staff! Come here for something different from generic city centre pubs, a gem!
Very well kept beer, with various real ales available. Prices marginally above average for the centre of Leeds, but the beer is worth it. Old-fashioned decor is a nice change from nearby pubs which have been largely refurbished. Usually quiet enough for quick service.
Its one of the remaining pub pubs in Leeds. It has quite stunning original looking details such as plaster work and the wooden separators down the bar.
We went on a Saturday near to Christmas, it was busy but still quite quick to get served. The demographics lean towards a slightly older male set of customers. But this means the atmosphere is laid back and fairly relaxed.
I had Guinness and it was kept and served well, decent range of wines and a very good range of beers.
If you are visiting Leeds i would suggest a pint in here if you are passing, just to see how pubs used to look.
A traditional style pub with good selection of beers/ales for those into that.
Lovely selection of booths for those who like sitting in their own little world.
Blissfully lacking in big-screen sports TV which is a nice change from the other pubs in Leeds city centre.
Couple of separate rooms which are nice and quiet and great for enjoying the fantastic food they serve.
Decent phone reception which is important if you're trying to meet people.
Soft drinks are rather pricey ... a common problem fair, but no pub is going to get 5 stars until I can by a pint of lemonade for less than the cost of a pint of beer/cider.
Great space to relax. The beer is great, but what has happened to the choice? Food is okay, but could try harder. Still very good value. The staff are lovely. Maybe needs a bit of music, but is that heresy? A good all round British boozer.
