Been here a few times now and the food is enjoyable and the portion sizes are big. Some things are a bit iffy but don't let it put you off trying something else. Service is good and they have plenty of beers to choose from

Nice atmosphere and great staff. I had the vegan ale pie with tenderstem broccoli and baby potatoes. The pie was good standard. Broccoli and potatoes tasted super fresh and delicious. Will definitely make another stop there on my way home from the office.

Went for a tea time treat!! Had the chicken sharer and the BBQ burger. Both were delicious!! Great choice of gins, my new fav grapefruit with grapefruit soda! Jenny and Craig, part of the team, were super friendly! Xx

I went here to watch the Leeds vs Cardiff game. Never been in before, just wanted somewhere with a nice atmosphere but not too rowdy, as I don't have Sky Sports. Staff were all nice, service was good and food was reasonably priced. Would definitely visit again.

Good selection of beers/ciders, plenty of parking, food smelt and looked good but we weren’t eating. We were given the entire down stairs to do our annual quiz which was perfect

Food was good. Good portion size. Service at the bar was a bit slow. Generally a great atmosphere through the pub.

Tried the new menu, fantastic & contemporary choice of meals at bargain prices First pub I’ve tried in at least a 10 mile radius that you can tell everything is freshly cooked I tried the Fish & Chips and my partner tried the new Grilled Halloumi focaccia; the fish was a nice portion & upheld cultural standards (watch out local chippies!). The focaccia was toasted and warm, yet soft with succulent fillings - great choice of complimenting sauce lathered on each side of the bread meaning it wasn’t dry at all! Well looked after by staff, I was served by a nice lady, think her name was Vicky, my only suggestion would be to have Tim Taylors come back, other than that there is a great selection of cask ales

We arrived at 12 noon and car parking was easy. The place was nice and there were many televisions - don’t worry they would not cover your conversations :-) We chose two fish and chips. Waited for 25 minutes but the staff had told us already that we have to wait for 30 minutes. The fish and chips were not bad. The fish were okay, the batter were a little bit too hard. The rest of the fish and chips were good (see photos). The staff was very nice, come to ask us how were the food in the middle of the meal.

Usually enjoy my meals here but this time it wasn't up to standard. I had the gammon and it was tough to the point of cremation. Was with a friend and on the clock so no time to ask for a new meal...just mentioned it upon leaving. Hopefully the standard will return next time as it is our local. UPDATE : Been several times since that review and happy to say, meals were great every time. Actually had the gammon meal a few days ago and asked for poached eggs instead of fried and the chef did them perfectly. Edited review from 3 to 5 stars now.

The Lord Darcy is like a home from home, it's very relaxing and the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. The meals are good value and you have a choice of offers. I enjoy a drink sitting on the terrace outside.
