Me and friends was at the pub last night for a retirement party.. Its the first time I've been and I can honestly say we all had a brilliant night.. The staff are lovely and the food was really nice and the dj was fantastic. I will definitely be going back. I would recommend the travelers rest for a nice friendly night out.
The travellers rest it's an inviting place I eat alone most time there always some were for me to sit had a chicken plater it was lovely food was hot and I had to dive right in New manager jo made me fell welcome bar staff were happy to help thanks travellers rest !!!!!!
Lovely Sunday lunch, the beef was melt in your mouth and with happy smiley staff what more can you ask for. Will definitely return again
Never a dull moment in there! The staff are great and do everything they can to make it an enjoyable evening even when your team are loosing! Great atmosphere and the half time snacks are gorgeous! Specially the chicken wings (shame it was only a small portion) Pints and drinks are well priced and the bartenders are polite and welcoming! Would recomend!
26/5:- Group of 4 of us watched the Rhinos game and all had food. Food was amazing. Mixed grill for me & fish n chips for the other half. (Highly recommend both). Very pleasant atmosphere and staff.
We have eaten at many other local restaurants. Some of the same chain. This beat them all. Friendly happy staff. Lovely food. Nice and hot. Very tasty. Will be back again. Very interested in the christmas specials
Lovely staff and lovely food, a very welcoming pub and would definitely recommend it.
Great place. Sit outside or indoors for food. Staff serve quickly and take order for food with ease. Food comes hot and spot on everytime. Can be busy on sunny days but not rowdy. Great deals on menu. Even have Teddy grabbing machine and won a few teddies
We went on Wednesday when you can build your own burger for a fiver! Comes with fries and onion rings too. Absolute value for money! Becky who served us was such a lovely lady polite attentive and professional. We even got a free game of pool thrown in. Clean tidy nice atmosphere to kick back with a drink and food. The outside seating area is fabulous too. Plenty of seats sheltered with heaters and huge screen.

Came in with family for a few drinks and ended up staying for food as others looked so good coming out. The staff were so friendly and attentive. I would definitely recommend the burger which was delicious!
I've performed here a couple of times, and can't wait to return. So welcoming by the staff, and the audiences are always fantastic. Keep doing what you're doing xx

Returned today and had a lovely afternoon which ended with a great meal. We'd discussed our concerns in advance and appreciate the same issue is unlikely to occur again. Thankyou to all the staff who looked after us so well today 😁
Very unhappy today! Came for a meal but wanted to have a few beers first. Bar staff aware we were eating as we checked everything was available on the menu earlier. When it came to eating we were informed that the chef... Who was also apparently the manager... had gone to pick up some medication and no indication of how long she would be! Strangely enough it corresponded with school kicking out time but who knows! We've enjoyed our meals here in the past but today was bang out of order as we were left hanging with no idea of when we might get fed and had to leave 😢

This is a fantastic pub and the added bonus of the Wednesday quiz makes it even better. The bar staff are so helpful and will do their best to answer any questions you have. The beer is perfectly kept and they have a nice selection of them to cater for every taste.
The Christmas decorations are nice and subdued which is better than most places where they are rammed down your throat. You also don't have to peel your children, handbags etc off the tables like you do in some other places. Also the glasses seem to be devoid of second hand lipstick and also the correct beer served in the perfect glass so pints of Guinness in a Stella chalice or a pint of bitter in a tea cup.
If you get chance I would go on a Wednesday as the pub quiz / bingo / play your cards right is a fun night and not the horrible competitive slanging match that I have been to be for. The quiz master is funny and interesting and makes sure a great time is had by all and I hope to go to plenty more quiz nights.
If you're in the area and fancy a nice night with great staff and enjoy making new friends then get yourself to the Travellers Rest and enjoy yourself

I REALLY enjoyed the breakfast buttys from here. So much tastier than anywhere else in my opinion. I also really love their burgers, and the choice of toppings, however was disappointed to find BBQ beef burnt ends taken off the burger menu. The prices are fair, the staff are attentive, it's never too noisy and can have a nice conversation whilst having some food. Yum yum yum :)
My favourite place to eat out at the moment! Would 100% recommend! Food is so good and such friendly staff.

This pub has been a favourite of mine for many years, I have lived in the area for 20+ years and always feel I can drop in and see a friendly face.
The staff are welcoming and the service is good, don't get me wrong, mistakes can be made but are always dealt with and quickly rectified.
Weekly Wednesday quiz night has to be a favourite, quizmaster Jamie is witty and friendly and makes the quiz a fun. If you've not done it yet then get it on your "to do" list, especially during these cold winter months when all you have left to watch on TV are, "the Soaps" 🥱🥱
Overall it's a lovely place to visit, be it for drinks, food, footy (screens inside and out), sitting inside, outside or in the covered outside area.
They also have good tribute events although I've not had chance to attend one yet but I am told by friends that they have been brilliant events.
I know this is long winded but they have also supported local groups in different ways so that says a lot in my eyes.
