Fantastic place to taste south Indian food. All the ones we ordered are really good. Staffs are very friendly and polite. Very good atmosphere as well. I highly recommend the starters platter that has chicken 65, lamb chukka , fish fry and prawns. The price is very reasonable and the quantity is very good for the price. Highly recommended.
Out of our urge to explore typical South Indian delicacies, we landed up in Chettinad Resturant. It was rainy chilling evening and we were ok for being late to a good lunch. But our wait was worth it. The moment you enter, the fragrance makes your mouth water. We got a cozy place and were excited reading the menu. We ordered for a family non veg platter and chicken lollipop. The taste was mid boggling especially the masala mutton, fish, chicken 65 and fried prawns. We couldn’t resist and placed the same order again. Now we plan to visit again and order the non veg thalis which looked really yum while passing to other tables.
Popped in before a show at DMH. No booking, but were accommodating despite being pretty full. Good, friendly service, with food arriving within a few minutes. Very tasty. Massive prawn dosa for a tenner or so. No indication on menu of spiciness however (hence 4 stars for food). Leftovers (pepper chicken) taken home and used for 2 subsequent meals! Would give it more time next time to not be do rushed.
I recently had the pleasure of eating at Chettinad Restaurant with my friends and tbh it was amazing. First of all the staffs were friendly, attentive, and happy to recommend dishes based on our preferences. When it comes to food I have no words it was outstanding. I ate the thalli which was packed with aromatic spices and was super delicious. The payasam was yummy. The flavors, the service, and the ambience all combined to create a memorable meal. I can't wait to go back and try more of their mouthwatering dishes.
Good spacious restaurant. Had passed by this restaurant many a times but had never stopped to check the menu or what the restaurant was like.
The atmosphere was pleasant and the welcome was even more pleasant. We had gone just over an hour before it was about to close so had to make a hurried decision and order our food.
Tue person tending to us helped us make our choice and we were glad we ordered what we did.
The price of food was fair sub £50 which included drinks, 2 Starters and 2 main courses.
All in all a good night out...we definitely look into visiting again.
It was quite busy when we went, however, the staff were very attentive and friendly. Fish curry was quite rich and yummy and loved the biryani. I would say definitely try pepper chicken 😊.
I had lots of foods,it was very nice and good atmosphere...especially( prawn ,koli, aadu,Malabar briyani etc...)
First time trying Southern Indian food, it was delicious. The lunch deal is amazing, generous portion and great value for money. The mini thali is such a delight for your taste buds and sight. Even the main menu offers pocket-friendly and large options to choose.
The waiter is super nice and attentive.
I highly recommend this place!
I absolutely adored the food and the service at Chettinad. Being on the lookout for a great South Indian restaurant, I relied on the reviews, and Chettinad exceeded my expectations. It's not often that reviews truly reflect the experience, but in this case, they absolutely did. The standout was the gentleman who served us. He had a remarkable understanding of our preferences and recommended a couple of dishes that turned out to be absolutely delightful. Beyond just the food, I am already looking forward to returning to try something new and to greet him with a warm hello.
I visited for the first time yesterday for lunch, the decor was classy, not gaudy like a lot of Indian restaurants. I had heard so much about their non mini Thalia, and I love Lassie, so ordered a mango one, presentation was perfect, the food was superb, so tasty without blowing your head off, you could taste all of the elements. I will be back!!!!
We came to Leicester from Sheffield just to try food in Chettinad restaurant after reading the reviews. And didn't disappoint even a single bit. The food was really tasty and the person who served us today is kind and courteous. People like him are the reason why the restaurant is so famous. I forgot to ask his name(young chap). Please pass on our appreciation to him. Thank you Chettinad restaurant

Located on the London Road, the nearest car park is the Victoria Park car park, which is just across the road. We had pre-booked a table & placed the order for starters, which was ready by the time we reached. The ambience is good and staff very friendly. The menu has a good spread of South Indian cuisine. The food was good and authentic. The service was very good too... overall, it was a very good dining experience.
Fab restaurant with an interesting variety of food. Their main dish is the dosa - a fermented pancake sort of thing. I had a chicken curry (I can't remember the name of it); it was delicious but a bit spicy for me! Also, you have to pay separately for the curry and rice.

I have been to chettinad yesterday, it reminds me of the food my mom cooks for me, the essence of South Indian flavors have captivated my taste buds and soul, I am impressed by the hospitality over there the staffs there are very vibrant and friendly. The ambiance there is unbeatable the one that make the vistor reminiscess about South india. Even the decor and walls remind the indian texture with bells and all the percussion instruments the ambience is actually cool . It echoes the indian culture blindly. The lighting is also perfect. The food is something more to talk about everything reminds of the indian flavour it is an enticing a visual treat and wholesome meal. The songs there is soo sitting and warm it always reminds me of the good old days.
Truly authentic and quite rare South Indian cuisine. Home food far away from home. Great service, lovely staff, good ambiance. Highly recommended.
Ordered the special Kerala Dum Biryani. Was a great meal but the biryani was too spicy for us all. I would recommend asking the chef to not add too much spice to your dishes if this is something you you struggle with. Portion size was great for the price, staff were very attentive. Authentic Kerala restaurant for sure!
