Have been a few times and the service is good. Even when they are busy. Food is fresh. A nice place to go for some good English food. Best to reserve a table as they do get full often.
This was the second time we had been in the Dovecote for a Sunday lunch, and this time was 100% better than the last time.
Service was fast efficient and very friendly.
Meat was great (beef), it was late in the day but the veg was plentiful and still nice.
Stopped for Sunday Lunch, they found us a space even though we hadn't booked. Opted for the Sunday carvery, choice of three meats,or a bit of each. Veggie option was tasty too loads of vegetables, all nicely cooked. Cheerful helpful staff.
12 of us visited to celebrate a colleague retiring and have a lovely evening.
The food was delicious, well presented and nice to see different dishes from the norm.
Staff were friendly and really could not have done more to make us feel welcome and comfortable.
The atmosphere was pleasant and the time flew by so much that we didn’t want the night to end.

Really nice Sunday dinner, nice service and a very reasonable price, busy but for a reason so make sure you book !
The food is excellent and very reasonably priced. (Its probably cheeper than McDonald's now) we sat outside and our 7 year old played with friends he made on the bouncy castle. You have to collect your own cutlery from a desk outside, thats why I gave 4 stars for service, but its really nice there especially when the airshows on and you can watch it from the garden.

Visited The Dovecote for the first time today with a friend, I have driven past many times on my commute, and wanted to give it a go. Booking is advised (as is anywhere on a Sunday). We booked for 12pm & were taken to our table promptly, and waiting staff were very attentive.
The selection of lagers and wines were good, and arrived ice cold (which was great in the current weather). These guys know how to pull a decent pint!
It was nice to see that the full menu was on offer on a Sunday, as many pubs do not do this in the area and stick to serving carvery alone. I opted for the 'Black and Blue Burger' and my friend for the Chicken in Stilton Sauce. Both dishes were well presented and extremely tasty, and arrived very quickly! If I was being nit picky, I would say that my burger was slightly overdone for my taste; however, the overall dish was lovely.
I will definitely be returning here for food. The interior is classy and cosy, and there is a large beer garden (which is always a bonus).

Lovely food, good atmosphere, and great activities for children. Good vegetarian food options.
At weekends it can be very busy when parking is difficult, as the car parking area is small.
Friday is a busy time there.
