We recently dined at Tamatanga, Leicester, and it was an exceptional culinary experience. The ambiance was inviting, with warm, earthy tones and tasteful decor. The menu boasted a diverse selection of dishes, each bursting with authentic flavors. I was particularly impressed by the rich and flavourful paneer wrap, which was filling. Tamatanga is a must-visit for anyone seeking a delightful journey through the flavors of India.

Best indian food in town. No need to look for an alternative. Cosy, stylish ambience. Expect a long wait in the weekends but I guarantee you won't regret it. Punjabi butter chicken is must try and chaat is really one of the best. Pricing is average not top expensive like Dishoom but expect same quality. I highly recommend this indian delicasee.

One of my favourite places to eat in the city centre, great tasting and plenty of options (including vegetarian). The location is pretty good too, on the outside of the Highcross shopping centre and a few minutes walk away from a few car parks. It is also next to a few local attractions so after dinner there is plenty of choice. The staff were pretty good too.

Indian food outlet at Highcross. Starters were good in flavor and taste. Cocktails were amazing. Main course chicken curry was good. The biggest disappointment was Paneer butter masala curry. Somehow the genuineness of taste was lost. Ambience and service is good. Worth visiting.

Tasty high street Indian food with cocktails. Two side plate size tasty naan breads with a main. Truly full up! Quality veggie dishes too.

Wow! Wow! Wow!
Simply satisfying!
Weāve only eaten at one other Indian food restaurant in the UK, having relocated from South Africa(the place for the best curry)and it was such a disappointment ā¦so was a bit wary to try again..but, boy were we pleasantly impressed with the food here! We had a lamb biryani bowl, railway cabin lamb curry , bang bang chicken, a side salad and the first/class lamb chops! The best!

As the name suggests, it's a spinoff Indian restaurant in Leicester city centre. We opted set menu which gives us an option to choose from a starter and main course. The staff helped us decide on the right item to taste on our palate. Bit expensive but definitely worth the price. We ordered papri chat, paneer makhani, sag paneer, gunpowder paneer, veggie biryani and cocktails. We enjoyed our food.

The restaurant has a good service and a pleasant atmosphere. The food at this restaurant is authentic Indian cuisine, so it's naturally quite spicy. Even the dishes that were labeled as mild were still spicy, so order accordingly and ask for a side of yogurt if you're not used to spicy food!

Molly was super helpful, service was quick and we were stuffed for Ā£25 each. Passion slam was tasty. We got railway cabin lamb which was hot, bangin baigan, rice, chilli cheese narn, tama fries and papadoms. Only negative was that I didnt like how they throw the menus after each serving waste of paper

Had a wonderful experience just from the point of entry into Leicester Tamatangaš was greeted by Tom Page, who took the effort to tell us how the menu worked and was so friendly š
Amber is so lovely tooš who willingly posed for a photo. Food 10/10 for portion sizes, taste and value for money. Wasn't disappointed and Amber advised using the app which we have duly downloaded and used for further perks š

Went here with the family, food was fresh and good, some nice authentic dishes on the menu, I recommend trying out of the ordinary foods rather than the norm. Some of the specials are nice, full of flavour, great peshwari naan, nice big mocktails. Great halal food.
Service was good overall, Iāve had a mixed experience in the past but went in the holidays, lots of new staff, mainly school and college peeps, friendly experience overall.
The Throwback Guy
Had a reservation for quite a large number of people. One was late but they made us all wait outside and said they would charge us to sit down if we didnāt. That was a bit weird but apart from that service was really nice. The food came out quickly and was and was cooked well. Also nicely decorated and great for a birthday or other celebration

Great dinner spot in Leicester! Centrally located and delicious food. Quick, friendly service. We tried lots of their sharing plates and everything was delicious, especially their chaat bombs and lamb naco

The Last Supperš„
We took a trip to Tamatanga for my leaving do and obviously had to make sure I chose the perfect place for our last meal togetherš«¶š».
What I ordered:
Homestyle Chicken Curry - I definitely prefer curries that arenāt creamy and after thoroughly analysing the menu, I knew this curry would be bang on. They used chicken thigh pieces rather than breast. The quality of the meat was amazing but I didnāt like the slippery feel of the chicken thigh. Other than that the curry was phenomenal. It was bursting with flavour and I demolished it along with my garlic naan and the rice.
Tama Chips - a must-have when you visit Tamatanga. Once you get that first mouthful of flavour, you just canāt stop yourself from eating more and more. The chips are so crispy and even though they are hot, itās a nice and bearable heat that can easily be sorted with a sip of a cold drink.
Garlic Naan - smothered with yummy, warm, buttery garlic. Using these to scoop my curry up with was an experience in itself. The combination of flavours was incredible.
Poppadum & Chutneys - mini poppadums are too cute. These are the perfect size as well for layering your chutneys on and being able to fit in one mouthfulššš¼the chutneys are so different to anything Iāve tasted before. The mango and the green chutney made for such a good combination. The mango was rich with a bit of a kick and the green chutney was sweet but still had such a deep and solid taste to it.
Peachy Blinder & Vandalur Bird - tamatanga cocktails are unlike anything Iāve tried before. I personally think they should do happy hour all night long rather than 5-7pmā¦š
Overall: 10/10 āļø
Considering our party size and the fact that one person was very late, so we did not order for a while, the staff were just so understandable, polite, and very attentive! The food and drinks were to die for and of such incredible quality. The atmosphere was so warm yet vibrant and also cosy at the same time. I will be visiting again very, very soon!
