Nothing crooked about this fabulous establishment. A delight in the sunshine. The ambience takes some beating. Lovely vibe, terrific beer, friendly staff and punters. Loved it.
A billet is a living quarters for soldiers. As a former schoolboy cadet I really should've carried on my military career. D
Amazing experience! Our server was lovely, the atmosphere was charming and cozy, and the food and drinks were delicious. I have to eat gluten free and the waiter was SO attentive and made sure every single thing was safe! I don’t know if I’ve ever had such a good dining experience with my allergies.
We went to see a band called The Targets, they were brilliant & the atmosphere was amazing. There were long queues for the bar but that is to be expected when it is such a lovely day. Even though the queue was long at times, they still served people very quickly. Great service, thanks for a lovely
Small, cosy pub and restaurant section. Decent selection of drinks, and tasty food. The pies are in particular are delicious! Fast service and friendly staff. Great place to stop off after a walk along the promenade from chalkwell or two tree island. Outside seating for sunny days. Great atmosphere.
Great little pub! Located right opposite one of the best seafood counters. Great for summer, plenty of outdoor seating in the courtyard opposite. Seafood virtually on tap. The pub does great food options also.
Cosy and quiet by the log fire during winter!
Loved the atmosphere and the food. The side-garden looks really clean and feels cosy. The food was outstanding. I bought the fish and chips... however there was a small amount of chips but a massive fish given which was really tasty. I really recommend going here.
We had lunch at this pub and I must say it was very good. Came as a bit of a surprise as the food was better then some of the more expensive places around the area. I often visit the billet after work it is a great pub with good selection of beers on. However the staff is what makes this pub, they’re always so attentive and friendly best pub in Leigh!
Tremendous visit on Sunday. Had a really nice roast dinner and the staff were really jolly.
Good drinks offer, expected prices and just a really nice location. Will be returning
This is a beautiful pub that I've frequented for years. This dining experience wasn't so good unfortunately, the portions were smaller than expected and lacked that special something but I'm sure it's not usually like this. I'm really hoping this was a one off as it's usually recommended
Being s disabled customer, the staff are very happy to help. A warm smile greets everyone. Occasionally, there's nowhere to sit, or people won't share tables, the beers are lovely, and the seafood is fantastic.
Live entertainment is laid on as well. Overall, the experience was very enjoyable.

The open seating area by the seawall is excellent, the drink range is OK. Prices are quite high £17 in June 22 for a large glass of wine and a beer. 1st time to have a drink in The Crooked Billet all though been to Leigh on Sea on many occasions good pint of Guinness plenty of outside seating and nice and comfortable inside . Will pop in next time down that way

We ordered duck pie and steak pie. Both dishes tasted very good, especially duck pie - great taste.
