We went to the Cookie Jar today to use the mother's days voucher I bought for my partner, and this place didn't disappoint. The afternoon tea slots are arranged so that Louise can personally bring them out and explain what was on it, which is a nice touch. The savoury pieces were some of the best i have had on an afternoon tea, and the sweets were lovely too!! Was a nice touch you can have any drink off the menu rather than just tea and filter coffee! Louise and her staff were also really good with our 2 year old daughter too. We will definitely be revisiting soon.

A brilliant little gem of a place! I had the traditional afternoon tea, £9.95. There is also a good choice of other things on the menu. You get four sandwiches, a sausage roll, crisps, coleslaw, homemade scone with jam and cream, caramel shortcake, lemon and meringue cupcake and a Cookie Jar cookie. I was full up afterwards and needed a lie down! Definitely worth the money. You can do an upgrade to the luxury afternoon tea for £1 extra. Booking is recommended as it is popular. Take out service is available, they will also box anything up that you can't manage so that you can take it home to have later. Will definitely be coming back.
Lovely food! We had afternoon tea, it was beautifully presented and felt really special, everything was so fresh and delicious and we got much more food per person than I’ve had at other places. Highly recommended, extremely pleasant atmosphere and staff.
Been here several times since the new owners took over some time last year. We've been for breakfast, dinner and now afternoon tea!
Many breakfast choices from Full English's to breakfast wraps. It is obvious that good quality items are sought by the owners.
Previously for dinner I've ordered a chicken tikka panini with a bowl of homemade soup. Plentiful, reasonably priced and tasty.
We have enjoyed the cafe so much that we decided to book in for luxury afternoon tea. We thoroughly enjoyed everything from savoury to sweet. The brownie in particularly was probably the best I've had. We had so much food we had to take some home!
Overall a good experience with good food and conscientious owners.
We will definitely continue to go!
I went for afternoon tea as a birthday surprise, it was lovely and fresh. There was plenty of food we had to bring some home in a box.
Great food and fantastic value for money, staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble, we will definitely be visiting again.
Absolutely brilliant, delicious food, lovely atmosphere and staff.... well worth the money!
Lovely little local cafe with fantastic afternoon teas. Definitely the place to go for either a leisurely drink or even better s scrumptious lunch. Support your local independent Cafes
Fantastic afternoon tea. Highly recommended and great value. We'll be back.
Been here a couple of times now for afternoon tea and we have never been disappointed! Wonderful little shop, run but a lovely lovely lady, great food and plenty of it I always end up taking things home with us. Great value for money highly recommend, we always book and you do have to give a deposit but this is just to secure your table. I do recommend booking as it does get busy it's always been full every time we've been!
Just had our first visit here. Had afternoon tea and it was lovely. Very reasonable at £9-95 per person for traditional afternoon tea. Four assorted sandwiches, crisps, coleslaw, caramel shortcake, cupcake, large cookie, large scone with cream and jam served with either tea or coffee. Everything was beautiful and fresh. Extremely friendly staff. It is a small place with room for approximately 24 people. There is room for wheelchair users. I didn't see a bathroom so maybe you have to ask. There is on street parking with a 1hr limit. We will definitely go again.
