Reviews The Barn At Swinfen

The place is quite small. Less a barn.......more a shed, or an outhouse. I JEST OF COURSE. Given the size of the shopping village the size of the place is just fine. It's actually quite long, maybe ten metres but only, like 3m wide. It's enough for a dozen tables with a few seating five. The place is immaculately clean & tidy. The menu seems fine in terms of range. I'd be worried if they were trying to cook some super-posh 5 course meal with "Foam" and some hog jui cooled to sub zero temps with liquid nitrogen. You know it's a small kitchen so the menu is based (Or at least accounts) on that restriction. The staff seem efficient and communicative and are very polite and friendly. The view outside the window ain't half bad either. I had a cappuccino. It was lovely and only cost £3.50. It tasted like they used fairly dark beans - possibly an Italian espresso roast. So if you don't like dark roasts, ask before you order.

Great place to stop during a car journey. Food was excellent and so were everyone that worked there- especially the lady with shorter hair and glasses!

Called in for lunch and sat at a table in their outside courtyard which is a very pleasant location. We had the sausages in a sourdough cob and they were very nice. When my coffee came, there was a pot of milk but no sugar. I asked for sugar and the waitress said she would bring some, but five minutes later I had to go and fetch it myself. We asked when ordering our food for some brown sauce and the person taking our order even made a note of it. When the food arrived we had to ask again as none had been provided. You guessed it - the waitress said she would bring some, but five minutes later I had to go and fetch it myself. Food is lovely, surroundings nice - go if you don't mind being served by staff with the memory span of a goldfish!

We visited on Easter Sunday after struggling to find anywhere that was open for breakfast. Upon arrival we were offered the option of sitting inside or out, so we sat out in the beautiful courtyard area. Service was prompt and the coffee was good. We had a full English and chorizo eggs Benedict. The food was sublime, well presented and good size portions for the price. We’ll absolutely be returning. Laura, the person that owns The Barn was lovely and has put a lot of effort into ensuring customers receive the best experience. Loved it!

Visited this Cafe with my family after lots of recommendation. The cafe has a cosy, lovely atmosphere. The waitress sat us to a table immediately. We ordered a full breakfast, Club Sandwich, Brie and cranberry sandwich and a steak sandwich all served on toasted ciabatta bread. Great value for money and we will definitely be returning! Very happy customers! :)

Enjoyed a lovely Sunday Brunch here! The full English was lovely and nice to know it was locally sourced meat products too. Already planning a return trip to this cosy and quaint restaurant!

I visit this cafe frequently and have always received excellent service and high-quality food. The staff are very friendly and make my experience exceptional. The main dishes and latte I have had were both excellent. The cafe is also beautifully decorated and has a welcoming atmosphere. I plan to return and highly recommend this cafe to anyone seeking a enjoyable meal and top-notch service.

Food and drinks were lovely. We had the small breakfast and eggs Benedict with black pudding. Each meal was generous, well cooked and presented. Downside: We arrived at 11.00 am on a Sunday, and we had quite a wait for the food. The staff were lovely and came by to apologise for the delay, even though we had not complained. Its quite a small place so if you want to hold a gathering of 4 or more i would recommend booking well ahead and reserving your place. Toilets are not accessible via the restaurant, you need to go outside to a separate building, so bear in mind if you have young kids or folks with mobility issues. We have eaten at this restaurant several times and always enjoyed the food, atmosphere and service. Would have been a 5 star review except for the wait.

I came a couple of weeks ago with a friend and had a fantastic experience at The Barn. Really smooth service and friendly and accommodating staff. I had an eggs benedict whilst my friend opted for a club sandwich - the all day breakfast is a great idea, there was so much choice! I will definitely be returning and would recommend.
