Elite On The Bail

Best fish and chips we have had even compared to the coast. We went in had the lunch special which was £10.95 including a soft drink or you can upgrade for £2. Either way for two of us including drinks it was £23 which is a really good price. Unfortunately no photos due to the food arriving and could not wait to get it down me. I had the haddock and my husband had the cod and we both had chips and curry sauce all included in the price. The food was fantastic and the batter on the fish was so light and not the normal thick batter you get. Highly recommend and best fish and chips we have had. If we come back to Lincoln we will return here for sure. Staff were so attentive and polite and making sure everything was OK and how it should be.

We tried the take away because it was such a beautiful day, lovely take away area where they actually have benches and umbrellas to sit at. We had 2 fish and a chips between us. The fish was lovely and the batter light and crispy, chips were a massive portion. Staff helpful and friendly, would recommend if you are in this part of Lincoln.

The wife and I called in here whilst looking for somewhere to eat. From the outside it looked very presentable. Inside looked lovely and clean. The staff we're very polite and hospitable. We ordered fish, chips and curry sauce off the lunch time menu for £10.90 which came with a drink. Have to say the food was lovely, and would definitely recommend. We would definitely visit again 😊

It’s hard to compete with the Elite. We’ll be going back to Elite On The Bail as soon as the chance arises. The food and the service were THAT good. But it does come at a price. Ironically, it wasn’t as cheap as chips. We ordered : -Regular Cod & Chips with Peas and Curry Sauce. -Large Cod & Chips with Peas and Curry Sauce. -Frickles - Battered Pickles. -A Coke and a Lemonade. and it came to just under £45. For Fish & Chips. We know what you’re thinking. That’s an absurd amount to pay for Fish & Chips ( and frickles and drinks) but until you try Elite’s srcan, you won’t understand why it’s priced so high. It’s phenomenal. The fish were massive, even the regular one. They were both chunky pieces of fish that tasted fresher and lighter than most other chippies we’ve been to. The chips were delicious too. Would we have wanted a few more? Probably not. There seemed to be just the right amount. The curry and peas were standard chip shop curry and peas, but we did seem to get a good amount of both. On to the Frickles and these were right up our street. £3.25 for 10 decent-sized chunks of Pickle coated in batter with a sauce is great value in our opinion. ( They’re even cheaper if you’re getting takeaway) Overall, for Fish & Chips, we do think it was teetering on the expensive side, but you do get what you pay for. We were looked after well by the staff and the food was exceptional. Elite are in an area of the city where rent is at a premium, so the price of goods is going to reflect that. Best Chippy in Lincoln? It’s definitely in the conversation!

Delicious fish and chips Food: Chips, Whitebait, Rock Salmon, gravy Taste: 10/10 Service: 9/10 Waiting time for food: circa 5 mins (for fish to be cooked) Price: 5/10 Quantity: 7/10 Cleanliness: 9/10 Fish and chips were delicious and the gravy was probably the most flavoursome chip shop gravy we have ever had. Slightly expensive, but was worth it for the quality. Defiantly worth a visit!

I saw the big sign on the back of this building while I was walking over the castle wall. I finished my tour and thought I should try this restaurant that took my eyes. It was an excellent choice. The place is spotless clean. Smiling helpful ladies. Food was freshly prepared and quickly served. I tried the signature Cod fish and chips. Very well prepared. Tasty. Decent portion. Price reasonable. Nice interior decor. This was the cherry on the top of this magnificent trip to Lincoln.
