A hidden gem. We found "Cargo Seafood" online whilst searching for a seafood restaurant to visit in Liverpool. It's a little further away from all the restaurants by the docks, so it made for a nice evening walk. On arrival, we were greeted nicely by a friendly team and shown to our tables. As it was a weekday, the place was a bit quiet. Food and drinks all arrived on time, fresh and very lovely. Good portions, too
We all had amazing meals and will definitely recommend this place and hopefully visit again in the near future.
The Seabass meal, seafood pasta, and King prawns were a few of our favourites 😍
This place is truly a hidden gem!!
The food was perfectly cooked and super fresh, we ordered the seafood platter for two for lunch and it was an absolute divine!
Highly recommended. I think the service was a bit slow at the beginning maybe they were understaffed but really, the staff were super nice and friendly.
There was a construction site blocking the sea view outside, but nevertheless our experience was 10/10!! Definitely going again!
My friend recommended to me few days ago that the seafood in this restaurant is very good, so I came here to try this restaurant. When we arrived at 6 p.m., there were not many customers in the restaurant. I ordered 4 Scottish oysters and a mussel as starter, a seafood tomato pasta as a main course. I tried 4 different ways to eat 4 oysters: eat them directly, add lemon juice, add chili sauce, add chili garlic sauce, I think adding lemon juice is the best. The mussels are very fresh, but not as good as the one I ate at Southport last time, but for 10£. a large size of fresh mussels is pretty good. There are many types of seafood in the seafood pasta. I can find shrimp, sea bass, octopus legs and squid in it. However, the linguine used for the pasta were a little for hold the sauce. It would be better if it was replaced with tagliatelle. In short, I think this restaurant is very good as a seafood restaurant and the price is not expensive. It deserves to be on my must-eat list in Liverpool.
Totally I spent for the meal I ate is 49.28£.
Good quality seafood with Reasonable price👍
I Definitely would recommend you to visit.
Seafood Platter is £65.
The service was amazing as well.
Went there twice for the special prawns with olive oil. Very good.
4 prawns each portion. Somehow both the times there’s a bad/not fresh prawns.
What a great dinner😍
I particularly like the scallop dish, which goes so well with the sauce.
The lobster is so good. I’m pretty sure I heard is whisper “eat me”😂🤣😄 And the chef very attentive and the lobster claws were already opened. And the side dish of potato chips is a must. It’s really, really good!
But the seafood cocktail shrimp was a bit salty.
Quite honestly I’m stuck for words. Can’t explain how good the food was…and the staff are just as incredible! Absolutely deserves every 5 star review and some. Will, without a doubt, be coming back. Thank you so much for having us 🤍
Been fancying this place for ages, we weren't disappointed. A lovely welcome, food was sensational, beer was cold, staff very friendly. All in all, a bloody great night!! Will definitely be returning. Top marks, keep up the good work 👌
Lovely sea food Restaurant, we went there for my 50th Birthday, Lovely staff delicious food, from top to bottom had a wonderful day.
Nice place to dine in Liverpool.
Riverfront fresh seafood restaurant. Cleanliness 5/5.
Food is 4/5. Scallops perfectly cook with very tasty sauce. Mussels, fish and chips, seafood risotto are delicious. Lobster, in my opinion, was a bit like frozen one. Beef burgers is just ok. Calamari is the worst, tasteless and texture were like a plastic.
Service 4/5 nice staff but very slow service.
Parking space checked. Call to the restaurant and staff will open the entrance gate.
Lovely restaurant a little out of the way at far northern end of Docks. The food was beautifully made, dished up and tasted great. I had the monkfish and prawns. The manager and waitress were very pleasant and kind. I was worried whether one of the dishes I ordered had something I was allergic to in it. They went out of their way to check and double check with the chef to reassure me.
Slightly off the more beaten track around the Albert Dock, at the top end (Irish Sea end), nice warm welcome from the chef I think, front of house good, on the ball, and happy to check stuff with chef...
Wonderful food, o my the lamb cutlets (yep I know it's a seafood restaurant) amazing halibut and great fish cakes..
NOW ignore the fences and scaffolding, this a temporary thing, they are open and a top family run business....
Best surf and turf I've ever had, the steak was absolutely stunning! Flavoursome, juicy and cooked to absolute perfection. All the staff were very accommodating and friendly. Little hidden gem on Liverpools waterfront. Couldn't advise this place enough! Will definitely be going back again.
I found this place via Google Maps as it is near where I am staying and I love fish and seafood. The food was incredible - just loved the scallops with a buttery, lemon sauce. Left my taste buds tingling. Then delicious monkfish. One of the most memorable meals I have had for a long time. Thank you Cargo you really know how to cook fish and seafood 😁
Lovely restaurant situated on the corner of the coast. An excellent ending to a long walk along the Liverpool docks.
All dishes were cooked to perfection, the scallops were particularly soft and fresh. The service was incredibly friendly and welcoming as well!
Had the most beautiful meal at Cargo restaurant! We had mussels and king prawns to start which were absolutely beautiful! And then the seafood pasta for mains and it was one of the most tastiest pasta I’ve ever had! Couldn’t recommend this place enough! Staff were friendly and the food came out promptly. Thank you to you all for the memorable meal!
We visited last night and were really impressed with the Cargo Team. The quality of the food was excellent (we had the sea food risotto and the sea bass) and the portions were very generous. We arrived starving and left feeling full! The wine was lovely and the service excellent - very friendly and attentive, whilst being given plenty of space. The Team clearly put a huge amount of effort into making Cargo a really special yet also cosy dining experience- highly recommend 👌
I've walked past Cargo almost daily for the last couple of years but finally got to go in last Friday. I'd heard good things from friends and family and can now finally confirm the food is delish. I would definitely recommend the generously sized mussels as an appetizer and the curried halibut was the clear winner when it came to main course. If you're a fish/seafood lover then this is well worth a visit and even if you aren't there's a variety of non-sea related dishes to choose from so it's worth a visit for the view alone.
