Visited as a family of 4 for a Sunday lunch. The food was fantastic. The main roast had a good amount of meat and it was nice to have more of a medley of veg as apposed to the usual meat and 2 veg you usually get at other places. Then the dessert. The sticky toffee pudding is absolutely amazing. Shout out to all the staff, they were very attentive and knowledgeable. We would happily return
Went here on A Friday afternoon. The barmaid was very welcoming and brought us menus and took drinks order. She brought drinks to our table, took our order and brought food. I had a very nice prawn linguine, others had fish and chips and sandwiches. All the food was excellent! They also do Timothy Taylor Landlord my favourite pint! Didn't get the barmaid's name but she was an absolute star, running bar and waiting on tables singlehandedly. Will definitely go back soon!
I recently dined at Blackburn Arms and overall, it was a delightful experience. The food was truly great, filled with flavors that delighted the palate. However, there was one small drawback - we were seated by the door, which made the area a little chilly. Despite that, the nostalgic pub atmosphere added a touch of charm to the entire experience.
Now, let's talk about the food. It was simply outstanding. The flavors were rich and satisfying, and each dish was prepared with great care. The roast dinner, in particular, left a lasting impression. The tender meat and perfectly roasted vegetables were a true treat for the taste buds. It reminded me of a traditional homemade Sunday roast, which added a sense of nostalgia to the dining experience.
The only downside was the seating arrangement. Being seated by the door resulted in a slightly colder atmosphere, which can be a bit uncomfortable, especially during colder months. However, the warm and friendly service made up for it to some extent. The staff was attentive and accommodating, ensuring that we had a pleasant dining experience despite the chilly seating area.
In conclusion, Blackburn Arms is a great place for delicious food and a nostalgic pub experience. If you're looking for a fantastic roast dinner, this is definitely a place to try. While the seating by the door may make it a bit colder, the overall quality of the food, friendly service, and nostalgic atmosphere make it a memorable dining experience.
Absolutely GORGEOUS little gastro pub near The Georgian Quarter.
The girls serving were great! On the ball & pleasant.
Food was fantastic. Small menu, beautifully done.
We will definitely be back 💜
Went here cause other eateries you had to book. We loved the image and the decor. The waiter was very informative and positive.
The food was great and very tasty.
I'd recommend this place to visit before going yo the Philharmonic theatre.
Had the steak which was good. Chips were good also. Not sure about the "brown sauce" and tapenade. They threw together a salad for me which I thank them for but would rather they had a set salad on the menu as coriander and mint don't go with the salad i had.
Great food, strong selection of beers, and fantastic ambience. They were also very nice with us as we were coming late in the evening. Definitely recommend!
We arrived at the end of a tour of Liverpool pubs, keeping the best till the last, and found Emily's welcome and attention wonderful. The beers, the food and the wine was perfect for 12 of us from Blackpool. Hope to call again, John McGlynn
