If the weather cooperates then sitting outside is the better option surrounded by old established trees and a very relaxing atmosphere. There's also outdoor speakers which give a decent sound.
Service was great despite a limited menu, which was outside their control.
Food was pretty good, but not great. The olives are decent stone in ones, but in a plain oil which with nocerella olives means only a very mild flavour.
The Moroccan chicken wrap was similar, a nice amount of chicken which was warm and moist, but only a scrape of hummus to provide the Moroccan element, it needed the chicken itself to be spiced or another element to make it great.
I had the Eton mess for desert and they kindly subbed the passion fruit sorbet for vanilla ice cream. That's just my preference that Eton mess is strawberrys only.
The bill was £66 for two appetizers 2 mains, 2 deserts 2 cocktails and 2 drinks. Toilets very clean and a super little spot, and not to far from the beaten track.

Went here last Monday for the first time and I have to say the overall experience was fantastic. The food, service and ambience were excellent. The only critique was as being night time it was very poorly lit and could not see were we were going but apart from that everything else was great. Will defenitely be coming back here again.
Really outstanding food that was full of flavour (passionfruit Eton mess was a favourite), smart and warm interior with character, excellent menu and fabulous service. Some well-behaved pooches relaxing under tables. Can't wait to return and try more of the menu. What a great find in the area.

Really really amazed by the kindness of the staff, the quality of the food, and the knowledge of international menus. I strongly recommend to anyone who wants to enjoy quality food with a posh presentation at a very reasonable price.

Love the food in ego. Unfotunately they have took my favourite meal off the menu.( slow roast belly pork) but everything else is really nice aswell. There used to be a lot more seats to just have a drink there so if you are going for a meal , best just get there in time for your meal
First time ...coeliac me and enjoyed having my own menu ....too much for a change spoilt for choice ...enjoyed every bit ...went with the family...empty plates all around ...x defo be back x

First time we have visited Ego, a birthday meal.. The food was amazing, very good indeed.. Service was fantastic, drinks cool... Atmosphere great, decor superb.. Will definitely be coming back.. A very nice surprise.
