Thank you to the lovely staff here for cooking and serving up our Christmas party meal last night. They couldn't do enough for our party of 10 people and the food was gorgeous. One of the nicest Christmas meals I have been for. Would highly recommend!

We booked the function room for a party on 23/12/17 . Although the staff were very busy we were looked after really well. A lovely cosy atmosphere with friendly staff. Really made the day special for our mum and dads golden wedding anniversary. Thank you all so much.

A group of us visited the night of Jan. 23, 2018. We are from the US and stopped by here for dinner because Dave over at the Hard Days Night Hotel highly recommended it. Wow what a great experience! Chef Robbie greeted us and our waiter Mikey took care of us from the moment we walked in. I highly recommend the scouse! One of the best experiences of our visit to the UK! Great job everyone. I sure wish we lived closer so we could be regular visitors to your wonderful establishment! Thanks for all the kindness you showed the 5 ladies from South Carolina!

Turned up for Sunday lunch with my wife and we both had a thoroughly delightful time. The food was top notch and the service was excellent. We will be going back for more food in the not too distant future. It's a great atmosphere, even if you just want a drink the staff are always welcoming. Heartily recommended...

Had a party in here for after we got married in February. Staff couldn't do enough for us. Would definitely recommend having a function here. Food is amazing and bar prices aren't bad for a city centre bar.

I love this place. It's location and the atmosphere is perfect. The service could be improved but the food was excellent. The cauliflower bites were divine. There's a downstairs space that looked cosy. I'd advise you to make a reservation if you want to be sure that you're going to have a table.

Visited this gem tucked away off Water Street and nestled by the beautiful St. Nick’s church gardens to sample their legendary Scouse ~ We tried the following: 》Scouse Pie 》Sticky Toffee Pudding 》Apple and Peach Crumble They offer 3 types of Scouse but we decided to go for the one with the Pie (traditional beef scouse topped with a flaky puff pastry lid served with seasonal veggies and chunky chips). Quite rich with chunks of meat and veggies on it complimented by a side of greens and chips - such a hearty bowl of goodness, so satisfied with it. For desserts, we had the Sticky Toffee Pudding and Apple & Peach Crumble which were both equally scrumptious with just the right amount of sweetness to 'em. Washed our meal down with a refreshing "Perfect Storm" cocktail and beer. Ma Boyle’s caters for breakfast brunchers, lunch catch ups and later get-togethers with delectable bistro food and a fab range of drinks & irresistible cocktails. It’s an intimate hideaway from the hustle and bustle of city life which features weekly jazz nights too. The attentive and accomodating staff made our dining experience here so enjoyable.

Very welcoming and pint and food of good quality. Busier than we thought it would be as area was otherwise quiet. Would definitely go back. Changed a lot since 1990 since they did pints of prawns for lunch and didn't open at weekend

Stunning little venue 100 yards from the Pier Head but hidden from plain sight. Big rum bar, but so much more than that, great food, ale and service. One to try you will not be disappointed, I went for the Scouse with a side order of chips....simply stunning. Outdoor seating available with views of St Nicholas Church. Venue itself is split over multiple levels with toilets being downstairs, may mean not suitable for anyone who is less mobile.

Ma Boyles exceeded all expectations for our wedding celebration! From the moment we stepped through the doors, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality, thanks in large part to the exceptional service provided by Callum Bibby. Callum went above and beyond to ensure every detail of our special day was flawlessly executed. His attention to detail, professionalism, and genuine care for our experience truly made our celebration unforgettable. The rest of the staff were excellent also. The quality of the food blew us all away. We couldn't have chosen a better venue, and we couldn't have asked for a better host than Callum. Thank you, Ma Boyles, and thank you, Callum, for making our wedding day absolutely perfect!

Been wanting to get in for a while but always been booked. It was worth it. A bit pricey but good quality.

Taking part in a venue with banquet food, it might not be fair to speak about the whole avilability of the menu. However, I sampled little burgers, which are delicious ,fishbites, and chips in cones, equally delicious and vegetarian skewers, which I found lacking in imagination and taste. The service was excellent, and upstairs was fully booked and very busy ,but the staff was helpful and friendly throughout . The atmosphere was warm and comfortable, but small and perfectly formed. As toilets are downstairs and no disabled facilities that I could see,it would not be suitable for wheelchair uses or people with mobility issues.

Very pleased to have found a lovely pub in Liverpool. Service was friendly and food was a good price and tasty (I had the Scouse). Very nice views sitting out, next to a Church. I'll be back.

One pint review (well, two pints this time): nice beer garden in front, two levels for social pub life or just cosy, private time. Downstairs IS for private hiring and they have regular Jazz Club nights. Friendly staff, beer was excellent, not cheap but that's for the location: busy high streets and top places near, pub is on very quiet off-street.

Great little cosy place to go. Friendly welcoming service. I went on a weekday while having a wander and really wished i had stayed longer. A lot of couples and quiet drinks on a Monday night is never a bad thing.

Great atmosphere. Cracking live jazz which you can’t find in many places in liverpool. Nice outdoor seating and lots of seating indoors. Food is great too. Dog friendly too which is a great perk! They provided water and even a sausage for our pooch so 5 stars there.

1st time visit, initial service was ok the lady forgot to give us our Menus but eventually remembered. The food arrived quickly and was delicious. The steak was cooked to perfection and the real homemade chips were indeed like my ma used make!! Then to top off the evening a jazz band arrived and started to play some great music that really fit the vibe in the place. We will definitely be back.

The maps didn't accurately show where the restaurant was, as it is located behind the building and the entrance is from the alleyway next to the building. It was a quiet evening, and I was one of the less than 10 customers that night. I ordered a scouse, and it didn't disappoint, although I'd wish it contained a bit more meat in it. The staff was brilliant, very friendly and welcoming. The place was beautifully decorated and the ambiance was just perfect.

Came here for dinner. Google Maps doesn’t show the correct location but you’ll find it up the alleyway with outside seating and lights strung up above. Fantastic little place. We went Saturday night and they had a live jazz band playing but it wasn’t too loud and really added to the ambience of the place. We both had the Scouse Pie which was amazing! It’s like a beef stew with chunks of potatoes and carrots covered in a flaky pastry crust. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend going here.
