Excellent. They were extremely busy and understaffed on our first visit. They explained they would seat us and that there would be a delay. We happily sat and ordered, yes there was a wait for food but the staff worked tirelessly to ensure everyone was kept informed of delay and topped up on drinks.
I have been visiting The Tavern for many years now. Although I still come, I have found the quality of food to have gone down over the past couple of years, even thought the price has increased a lot! The staff are friendly, but I do not think they have enough as you always have to wait a long time
Great start to the day, a group of 11 of us were going to the Chester races and met here for breakfast. All on the one table. Wonderful breakfast, endless coffee or tea, staff were great, cheerful and helpful. Cannot praise the Tavern enough.
Great place for breakfast, brunch, lunch (I've not had dinner here yet). Unlimited tea and coffee is a nice touch. Any other soft drink from the bar feels overpriced, but then again, sugar tax makes it feel like every soft drink is overpriced now.

We just left Leaf opposite due to lack of customer service. We were extremely happy with our evening, I havnt been in years and had a lovely night.

Delicious veggie breakfast, I had it with no beans and it was more than enough. They come round with coffee and tea regularly and keep you topped up which was fab. Wouldn't hesitate to go back.
Lots of choices for breakfast here. Mostly American style pancakes. I opted for the full English and it was delicious. You get free coffee or tea with your breakfast, that gets topped up frequently at your request.

Not a bad full English. Fresh orange tasted like white spirit. So avoid that. Triangle toast burns my head out. But I left feeling full. £11.95 for full English is expensive. Ate far better breakfasts for less. Limitless tea an coffee aswell which if you can get it regulary is a winner.
