Can’t begin to describe what a breath of fresh air Sound is compared to most faceless and friendless chains. This is a bar / restaurant with a conscience, food is good and really reasonably priced but the welcome is second to none, whether you’re coming with the babies or the fur babies. The manager wouldn’t even let me tip over breakfast, this despite giving the eldest a cake on the house and money for one of the games there. Thank you sound for being so sound

Well, the phrase "proof is in the pudding" is so applicable. In 2016, my band was playing in Liverpool and Sound kindly offered to store our gear overnight. Even that's rare these days. But, unfortunately, the bar was broken into overnight and £1000's of our musical gear was stolen. The owner of Sound immediately took us under his wing, three young teens with broken hearts, and made us feel at home. (We are from Brighton- Lpool very far from home). Even though his business had just been burgled, he went the extra mile, gave us all breakfast, gave us each a whiskey, and nothing seemed too much trouble. I never got his name (he was a busy man that morning), but he is a true gentleman. And the girls he employed were all equally as supportive. This will be the first place I go when I return to Liverpool, first for the amazing people, second for the amazing booze. The pudding proved that Sound, truly is sound.

This bar is great ever since it re-opened. The staff are friendly, the homemade chips are great, and there is often good live music on in the corner. I can't wait to check out the new venue downstairs.

I came in a month or so ago with my daughter. It was my birthday and I just wanted somewhere for us both that was a bit grown up but still child friendly enough that we wouldn't be shunned out the door at the first sign of a toddler meltdown. It was early evening on a Friday. The staff were soooooo lovely, even going so far as to reserve a lovely table for us and they gave me a little present too. They came over and chatted to us and basically made us feel really welcome (I was worried I'd be that annoying person with the child). There were some after work people there too who seemed to be having a great time too so I'd recommended Sound to anyone who just wants to have a nice little evening. Thanks once again for being so lovely.

Loved this place as a venue, really close and intimate for indie/up-and-coming artists, great atmosphere for music with in-house DJ upstairs. Drinks were quite expensive though and most of the taps were off when I went leaving me with limited options for cheaper beer.

Nice bar upstairs. Good little menu. Enjoyed Haloumi fries. Went to gig downstairs to watch my son play. Band called How Many? Very small basement with another bar but perfect for up and coming bands as it's not too big. Really good night in there

The best night out in town! Atmosphere is always so friendly, any issues and the staff are more than helpful, great selection of ale. Bar staff are super friendly, music is always perfect for the time of night, and the food is amazing, I highly recommend the pizzas and cupcakes, they're all handmade and Tate even better than they look! Can't fault this place for a night out! Always good memories when I've been to Sound!

Dog friendly wich is a massive bonus being so close to town. Unreal selection of beers on tap and probably the best pizzas in town. Very reasonably priced and great customer service 10/10 would highly recommend.

A fun place to hang out in, Sound offers simple but tasty food - the pizzas are especially good. Also make sure to try any brownies or cakes they have for sale at the bar area, they're always top notch. In the evenings they often have bands or DJs on, which is what I've mainly been there for. While the venue is a little small to get the whole room dancing, the atmosphere in there always makes up for it and everybody has a great time. There's a good selection of drinks and they even have some top spirits on offer. When the show was first on they were getting in the American 'Lone Star' beer due to its appearance in 'True Detective'. A nice little move there, Sound! Overall, a very fun place to go in both the daytime and the evening. Well worth a visit

Amazing food, drink, and staff. I've come a few times now and every time I am greeted by a friendly happy face. My partner and I tried the food for the first time tonight and it was delicious. I had the green bean and pea salad which was perfect for a hot summer day. My partner had the sobrasada pizza and was surprised by how big it was and tasty it was! Our favorite part of the meal was the salt and pepper chips!!!! Do not pass these up!! As a vegetarian and gluten free it is hard to find places that offer fab food for great prices. This place is proper Sound.
