This really is a very good curry house! For years, The Light Of Bengal has been a popular restaurant and take away for Liverpool's Aigburth and South Liverpool areas and many on this side of the city would agree about its status as one of the best in the whole city. The problem with The Light is of course its situation. Now that the Fulwood Arms has opened nearby, things aren't quite as remote as they once were along this stretch of road between Garston and Lark Lane so is is possibel to enjoy a curry some beers and entertainment next door and not feel like you are making a bit of a voyage. It would be worth it though as The Light's menu is offers a good array of authentic Indian dishes at very good prices and the staff are top blokes. Worth the trek.

cannot rave about this place enough... to start i come from the black country where the curries are probably the best for takeaways in the UK but as liverpool goes this one is my favorite. reasonably priced with a great set of choice - i have tried half the menu and love it. pickle tray is a must!!! love the service with some friendly yet professional faces. recommend lamb here as its always cooked superb! also for a change the chicken from goa is good (minty so unusual but well flavoured)... chefs specials are always great although love the karahi and mollakasha as my fav choices! worth going out of your way to visit

Warming welcome, given the choice on where to sit . Lots of good choices on the menu And good prices A very busy restaurant and also with the takeaway service. A bit of a wait on the food was worth it Tremendous portion size so much I couldn't eat it all ! I had the tandoori mixed massala and egg pilau even though i ordered the cheese and krema nan didn't come with cheese and itvwas a little burnt but all tased excellent Would definitely come back

We were at Light of Bengal last night (New Years Eve) for a meal. It was extremely busy but we were allocated a table even though we'd not been able to book beforehand. The atmosphere was really good and despite the staff clearly being run off their feet we were well looked after. We had starters, sides, and a main dish. All were really nice. Portions were a good size too. In fact, we had ordered a garlic and cheese naan but it never arrived. An understandable oversight given how busy it was at the time, but we really couldn't have fitted it in anyway, given how full we were. The cost of that was removed from the bill. All in all it was a lovely night. Good atmosphere, staff and food. Thanks, Light of Bengal.
